I'm planning going to my first Nall this year. Still waiting for final approval on personal days at work though. Mike

    Lipo vs Li-Ion

I use A123s on my 60cc plane and lipos on my 120cc plane. Advantages for the A123: • Can bury them in the plane, which is a plus since my plane needed nose weight so the batts are way up front under the cowl. • Dead nuts 6.6 volts nearly the entire time, flight after flight, eliminating the...

    3DHS 70" Velox

Me too. Quick grip is excellent glue. I like it as much as welders. It's way faster drying as the name suggests. Skins over almost instantly. Good for quick assembly but sometimes the longer skin time if welders is nice, like when gluing the spar in. Mike

    3DHS 70" Velox

I have those servos in my velox too and have nothing but praise for them. Quick, strong, and center precise and priced right. I run mine on 8 volts on my velox 70. Mike

    3DHS 87" Extra 300 SHP

Yes, my 87 came out tail heavy. No big deal adding weight if you can't get the CG where you want it by moving batteries around. Mine needed a lot of weight up front but still flies extremely light and forgiving. Do what you need to and burn gallon after gallon of premix! Mike

    3DHS 70" Velox

Very curious about this engine as well. My 8s velox is great but charging is getting old. I'm looking for the happy medium between a dle 20 and a dle 30. I'll be watching your testing. Mike

    3DHS 87" Extra 300 SHP

Yep. If I remember right the jtec large Pitts I had on my 89 was 11 ounces. I believe even the smaller one was 8+. My muffler is 3! Two 2500s (about 6 ounces a piece) would work for sure. Looking into that or just running 2s lipos. Mike

    3DHS 87" Extra 300 SHP

I must say this is my favorite airplane to date! Haven't stopped flying it since I put it together. Just an all around excellent aircraft. Mine has a da60 spinning a falcon 24x9 and its juuuuust right. My only issue is even with all electronics pushed forward it still needed 6.5 oz of nose...

MEDIA BLITZ! FLI New Jersey & 3DRCForums - 38 Competition

Great pics from a phenomenal event. I had so much fun flying, watching the crazy talent of other much much younger pilots, and just hanging out with everyone. Special thanks to Glenn, Gary and the whole 3dhs crew on a perfect event! Mike

    3DHS 70" Velox

I've got 15 flights on my new Velox 70. Power is a Motrolfly 4325 310kv on 8S and it's very nice power. However my 104 Slick has spoiled me so it feels a bit tame in comparison. Still more than enough plus I know it will swing more prop than I have on it at the moment (Xoar 18x8). Flying the...

Another 3DHS 42" AJ Slick Build Log and Review

Nice job. I'm putting one of these together now and without thinking I opened up both tail servo areas. Before I patch the rear rudder servo hole closed I'm wondering if I can achieve the right cg with a rear mounted hs65mg servo? Ill be using 1500 and 1800 batteries with s motrolfly 2810...

    3DHS 70" Velox

I picked up a blue one over the weekend and had a few questions. 1. Those doing 8S Motrolfly 4325's, two elevator servos or 1? 2. ESC recommendation for using a Motrolfly 4325 310kv motor? I'm sure I'll have more questions but I'm in the "buying" stage now before attacking assembly. Thanks Mike

    3DHS EPP Edge kitbash

After crashing my epp edge about 10 times there was literally more glue than foam holding the fuse together. So, rather than trash it, I cut a new fuse out of a piece of 1 inch thick EPP and grafted the wing and stab from the original Edge. For the fuse I used the shape of one of my balsa...
