Thanks Enterprise!

I would get the 155A as it is only a few bucks more, 5 grams heavier, and in stock. If my Jeti/Mezon experiment goes well I will sell you mine as it literally has only had bullets soldered onto it.

That is a low profile servo. I don't think there is a XQ, but here is the Hitec.

Use coupon codes and you can usually get 15% off if the basket lines up with the correct amount.

PM me when your are done with the 155A I will def buy it from ya and thanks again-especially for the servo info!

Lifesaver you are..or dollar saver I should say!

WHOAH...75 for those HITECSx 4...Yikes........I hope I can find a servo at half that cost as I will sell the ARF, and the A50-16s hacker and Castle 100 EDGE before I drop 300 on servos to finish that. I need to take a Xanax -Sebastiano Silvestri style.

There has got to be an option that does not cost 300 dollars for 4 servos for a 399 ARF that will not be flown in 3D.

Thanks Enterprise for converting those......I get the 224 for the 5585MH's for the Vyper but need to do the Seb on the cheap as king as I already have the motor and ESC.

Any ideas on those servos? X pensive cause of the low profile to torque ratio? I need to verify if I can use something deeper than those 19 mm's...and why someone dais to use Hyperion 35 dollar servos DS 16 and 20 FMDs

FOUND IT!

Hyperion!

A Servo that will work both on the 65" Vyper and PERHAPS the 61 Seb Sebach and can get the programable usb to servo cable for 17 bucks.

http://www.rcdude.com/servlet/the-714/Hyperion-Atlas-Digital-Servo/Detail

Has more torque and speed of the HS-5585MG-is fully programmable and cost 37.95 each..Not 60...

Only prob for the Sebach is it only calls for half the torque 100oz for all four control surfaces. The Ds 20 has 195 at 4.8 and 236 at 6.0

I could get 8 of these for 300 dollars...Enough to do two AC....

Are Hyperion low quality compared to Hitec or is it good enough?

Thats enough savings to pay for the Motrolfly 4320 and 155 gecko for the Vyper.

Once upon a time as I was learning about 3D flying and equipment, a smart and experienced person pointed out to me that sometimes you can learn a lot from looking at what other people are using....

I also researched those servos once, and word on the street was that they didn't stand up to 3D flying well. I think even Chris Jewett (Team EF) tested them and found them inadequate, but I don't remember where I read that.

If you are looking for some less expensive servos that will still work for 3D flying, check out the servos offered at RedwingRC. There is a large variety to pick from:

Naw I had a recommendation but they're pricey and he may need a low profile servo

Well just in case he wins the lottery which ones? Maybe someone else who reads this thread might choose your recommendation?

Which servos would you guys choose from Gyros links? I'm not a HUCKER.

It was a savox, possibly too big. Here is a different savox that is low profile. Again, pricey compared to what he is looking at though. Also it barely meets the torque requirement at 125oz-in

THANKS TO EVERYONE on the servo search. To clear any confusion here is what the SEBART 50E sbach manual says about the servos.

Radio equipment:

Minimum 5-channel radio system

4 standard or low profile digital servos
with metal gear servo JR PROPO DS 9511)

2 servo extension 300mm, for elevator and rudder servos

2 servo extension 100mm, for aileron servos

Recommended electric motor for best performance:Hacker A50 16S

ESC 70A SBEC

APC 16 x12E or 17 x 8E

So it will take a Standard servo...the wing looks much thinner and the rudder/elevator are no problem.

Looking at the pics in the manual I a most concerned about the pre drilled servo attachment holes on the aileron; these screw in vs. being glued in as the pictures show in the wing and etc so I am trying to emulate the length of the JR 9511 servo 40.5mm and the width 19 so the fit w/out doing anything but cutting the covering and drop them in.

Since I am such a NEWB..here is the actual top and side view of the JR 9511's that call for ~6.2kg/cm all around on the Seb.

http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=43567

Could you guys look at those pics please as I don't want to have linkage angle issues or attachment to the holes drilled in the wood.

If anyone caress to really see these pre drilled hole issue that may be a needless worry...the actual PDF manual has some awesome pics

http://www.chiefaircraft.com/pdf/Assmebly-Manual-Sbach50.pdf

PG 13 Aileron attachment holes (step 15)

PG 26 Rudder

P 34 elevator

P24 STEP 37 shows a rear view of the Rud/Elev servos attached.

The servos you put up GYRO look awesome......I s too much torque a prob with the Seb 100oz vs the Vyp at 200oz?

And I am confused as I am trying to match up dimension so I don't have to "Cut wood" if necessary on the Seb. Being such a newb is a prob as I don't know if I need to be at 4.8 or 6.0 V as I am using an internal ESC BEC on the ZTW's on both planes?

Finally these servos have some TORQUE......And between the redwing and XO I don't know if anyone has done the same testing as was done on the Hyperion as this was a 3D pilot and if insufficient to an expert means "over the top" for me.

So much has been said and from the links Gary has been nice enough to provide which would you guys use as a digital servo for the Seb to match the meet the 100 oz or higher and for the Vyper as a OPTION to the HS 5585MH which are 54 a piece shipped and require 200oz appx.....? Here are the XO and Redwing links......

THANKS SO MUCH guys....I will probably erase these AC long before I am 10 per cent the 3D pilots you are so I really appreciate getting a reliable digital servo for bot the Sbach and the Vyper. If you were doing 80 percent precision and 20 per cent hard 3D(like next year maybe) which servos would you guys buy to use with ZTW Geckos (155 Vyper and whatever you would use on a HACKER A50 16s for the Seb.

Regards....Greg

PS...Thanks again as I know you guys are busy but I really need the experts to opine so the NEWB does not FUBAR the Seb and Vyper.
