The value is the number of steps each trim click will do, 5 is a good starting place. Setting it to 0 will effectively disable the trim tabs. If you find you can't quite get the plane trimmed because one click is too much, then lower the 5. Common means the trims will stay the same for any...

Help With Motor Timing and Poor Throttle Response (Gecko 120HV)

Ahh okay that's the same mine were doing before the new firmware, I never flew with them. I figured if I tried I would get myself in a tight spot and need the throttle only to get the knocks.

Help With Motor Timing and Poor Throttle Response (Gecko 120HV)

If it was working fine on the ground and you were using an "idle mix" it sounds more like a solder joint went bad or loose connection. The ones I had which were off did it right out of the box and every time the throttle was advanced quickly.

I asked on the other forums about that and Bivens replied it wouldn't be a problem. I used spacers on mine, haven't gotten around to pulling them out yet but plan on it to get some weight off the nose. The plane seems much happier balanced neutral, at least for my tastes.

Help With Motor Timing and Poor Throttle Response (Gecko 120HV)

You need the programming box which is pretty cheap and well worth it. Hook the gecko up to the programming box, the programming box to the PC, then click the general button on the PC software screen followed by the update settings button and you'll be prompted for the file location of the new...

Help With Motor Timing and Poor Throttle Response (Gecko 120HV)

The firmware Tim sent for the 85A Gecko fixed my issues with the MF I would imagine it it will fix your issues with the eflite, symptoms sound the same.

Help With Motor Timing and Poor Throttle Response (Gecko 120HV)

I wasn't complaining about the dead stop to starting occasional knock or cog, an "idle up" switch cured that so I wouldn't be starting from a dead stop in flight. The issue I was having was fast throttle up from an already spinning motor would just cause mean knocking and the motor to stop...

Help With Motor Timing and Poor Throttle Response (Gecko 120HV)

I tried out the non HV firmware update on one of my wonky 85a Geckos with a 6S 4315-500 and it seems to have cured the knocks. Really makes me wonder what they "didn't" change that required a firmware update though :P. I had to fumble around the software a bit to do it, apparently you don't do...

Theres an android app called clinometer that makes for a nice free digital pitch gauge.

Help With Motor Timing and Poor Throttle Response (Gecko 120HV)

I'd like to try it but in my case I don't think the term "suspect" motor applies. I'm having issues with a 3615 and 4315 neither of which are 28 pole. Despite what they claim they have changed something with the ESC somewhat recently. As I've said before I had 0 issues with the same motor/esc...

Help With Motor Timing and Poor Throttle Response (Gecko 120HV)

I'd definitely like to try this, I have 2 85a Geckos sitting around because I don't consider them usable due to cogging on fast throttle up. They had the same problem with a 4S 3615-700 MF and 6s 4315-500 MF. Both of the Geckos were purchased a few months ago, I have some older ones which work...

    3DHS 60" Yak-55

I actually tried them both on the inside and outside when I flew it last weekend and did prefer it on the outside. I intended to make some smaller ones, I was thinking very small, more like stall fences than SFGs, but I never got around to it. I guess pricing was the issue that they didn't...

    85A Gecko Knock

Well if anyone else suffers from this, here is the response I received from Garret at Altitude hobbies after asking him about the issue: Hi, Jeff -- yes, this is a known issue with the Geckos right now. It is happening on certain Hacker and Motrolfly motors; it is very difficult to predict...

    85A Gecko Knock

The last two 85A Geckos I've purchased are both causing knocking on fast throttle up with a 3615 and 4315 MF motor, aside from the quick throttle up issue they work as they should. I have two other Geckos and neither of them do this, any idea as to the cause or has ZTW changed something?

    3DHS 60" Yak-55

I have about 12 flights on mine now, everyone of them in 10+mph winds (plus gusts), it handles the wind really well. I set it up with 7245s, 4315-500 and using 6s 3000 Glaciers (485g). I ended up with 21g of lead on the tail to get it to balance where I'm happy, the plane has no issues with...

To a Splendor to make it more 3D? Tips or advice.

You can switch your AR635 to sport mode and that will give you two different adjustable gain banks, set the gain on one to 0 to be able to turn it off. You'll lose the preset lo/hi rates though and each bank will have full throw.

    Aj aircraft 93,73,56 laser

Would the mounting holes on the 56" (hacker a40) match up with the lightened version of the mf 3615 or the aluminum mount? And anyone have any thoughts on the hacker vs motrolfly?

Set it up according to the manual, sticks felt great in that regard, it is a quick little plane though :P

Its more of a wobble than a tendency to roll one way or maybe saying its OVERLY sensitive would be a better way to describe it. I think Ill try moving the cg a bit more forward, now that I thought about it the last biplane I had was sort of sloppy in the roll axis until I moved the cg forward.

    42" Vyper Bype

I had a chance to maiden mine today, I think its going to be a fun little plane once I get used to it. Its seems to have a little wobble? in the roll axis though and I couldn't quite trim it. Linkages are all slop free, anyone have any thoughts on where I went wrong or what to check for? The...
