    DLE 35RA Muffler bolts

Where did you get the Nordlock washers? I used denatured alcohol. Maybe I need something stronger?

    DLE 35RA Muffler bolts

Didn't last unfortunately. Used the red permatex on both surfaces. Attached the parts together until the two parts just touched. Waited an hour then tightened everything down. I did a small turn on each bolt to gradually bring the muffler to the exhaust port. I used split ring lock...

Club funfly tomorrow. Expecting really nice weather so the flightline should be busy. Taking the Yak out today to get more familiar with it.

Ok, that makes more sense. I just figured Wool Book was a Pacific NW phrase for something.

Looks perfect for this plane. Cowl is 9" wide. They are out of stock but I have my name on the waiting list.

Solution! Wife suggested I try a different motor. Why didn't I think of that? Wonder if I can shoe horn a twin in this thing?

Played hooky from work today and headed out to the flying field. Light winds, blue skies and beautiful outside. Mowed the grass areas and flew. My decathlon muffler came loose AGAIN and the motor died at the absolute worse place it could (end of runway). Low, slow and no hope of getting back...

Looks like a great lazy Sunday flyer. Would love to get it at that price too but have other obligations first. Momma wants solar heating for the pool. So we are getting solar heating for the pool. :cursing:

Only Bipe I've had was a Tiger Moth with a Saito 1.00 in it. Great lazy day flyer. I sold it to a guy across town in Feb and then one of the members at my club showed up with it in late April. Said he found it on Craigslist. He got it for a hell of price too. I sold it for $375 and he...

Funny coming from someone with Bipenut as a handle. I like the looks of the Beast. I am not a fan of electric planes though. Nothing wrong with them, just not my cup of tea. I also like the Aero-Works Pitts and Checkmate.

V-nose? I used to have a flat front trailer. Anything above 40 MPH felt like pulling a parachute. My new trailer has a v-nose and while I still know it is back there, it tends to cut through the air a little better.

Yeah, I have a crew cab F150 and it has the short 5.5ft bed. The YAK and Decathlon (And now the Edge 540) don't fit back there. The trailer is a cheaper option than another vehicle which will cost you insurance, registration and other fees.

Which of all the 50cc is most stable

Super cloudy day. The night before is when all of the flooding was happening here in Texas. Field was wet, but otherwise flyable. You just DID NOT want to have a dead stick into the fields. You would sink up to your knees in mud and there are snakes!

    Night Flying

Seeking input from the group. (OK, and not 3D related either so don't be too harsh on me. :ashamed: Our club has a night flight planned for Jul 3. I have a slow flying Carbon Z Cub that I would like to put lights on and fly. This thing is actually pretty fun to fly because you can do so...

Which of all the 50cc is most stable

Typical nervousness kicked in when I took the runway and advanced the throttle. As soon as it broke ground and began to climb I knew things were going to be fine. It needed a couple of clicks of down and some right aileron trim and it was perfect. Most maiden flights are a couple of laps...

Which of all the 50cc is most stable

Resurrecting an old thread. Finally had a nice day to maiden the 50cc YAK 55M. Could not be more pleased with the way the plane handles. Very stable and predictable. Slows way down for landings and is still very controllable.
