I guess the landowner wants quiet and/or private time with his family on those days. They are on the adjacent property.

It would be interesting to know what aftermarket mufflers offer from a sound suppression stand point. Not all airplanes can handle canisters. Our field opens at 8am for electrics and 9am for everything else 7 days a week. It is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. The landowner can also...

Maybe, just maybe it is possible to fly an airframe too much. But NO WAY is it possible to fly too much. (That is like saying there is such a thing as having too much money)

Good save SnowDog. One of the guys at the field yesterday forgot to check the screws that hold the elevator on to his 30cc Edge 540 and one tried to depart the plane in flight. Only thing attaching it to the plane was the servo wire. The elevator assembly was just flapping behind the plane...

Looks like you will have to go with the 50cc Yak then. :) (and sell me the VVRC twin for my Decathlon)

The Robart gear is actually lighter than the thick music wire gear that came with the plane. I screwed it right into the plastic plate on the bottom of the plane. If you want a plane that lands like a dream, the RedwingRC Yak 55 is it. Of all of my planes, (I currently have 10) the YAK is...

I think it calls for 3500 packs as a minimum. I bought some 5000s packs from a guy that was getting out of heli flying so that is what I am using. How do you like the Bigfoot? I have wanted that plane for months now but it has been out of stock and I have seen some negative write-ups about it...

Jakeg - When I got back into the hobby after a 25+ year hiatus, I bought the E-Flite Carbon Z Cub. 84" wingspan, takes a 6S battery, flaps, the AS3X receiver and so on. The cub has been flawless except for the music wire landing gear. I replaced that with the Robart 1/5 scale gear and some...

So here is my weekend story. Flew all day Saturday. Great day! Last night the wife asks if I will setup the simulator so she can "practice". So I set it up and she goes through several airplanes until she finds one that flies the way she likes. B-25 mind you. She takes off and does several...

Bipe - How do I respond to this? Glad you got to fly today! :bouncy: Sorry the truck went south! It is awesome you can use gravity to get home. Sorry the wife's vehicle is on the fritz too. Be glad you have the '66 as a backup vehicle. :ecstatic: Was the...

Mike - How old is the Avatar photo? You don't look near old enough to have a single grandkid. Let alone 3 from the same daughter!

Awesome post 3dNater.:bouncy: I've been trying to get my 10yr old grandson interested. Haven't had much luck getting him to put down his video game long enough to even look at an airplane.

Awesome airplane and a great pilot. That was fun to watch Bipenut. I wonder how many airplanes those power lines have eaten?

Guy at the fun fly today had a large 60cc Corsair. He was making high speed low passes and the wife thought it was pretty cool. When we got home she said, you should build a big warbird like that. Now I have to figure out how to get a Moki Radial past her....

    DLE 35RA Muffler bolts

Thanks for the input guys. I flew the YAK today and didn't have any issues with the muffler. I will run by Auto Zone and get the Copper RTV and brake cleaner to try on the 35RA.

    DLE 35RA Muffler bolts

I thought about that yesterday. I'm flying the YAK today and it has a 55RA. Muffler install was done the same as above. Let's see if it holds up. If not, I will get the copper filled and try that. In the mean time it looks like I should invest in a case of bolts. :cursing:
