Turnigy TGY-i10 full telemetry 10 ch computer radio

Dimes, I think you should apply for a job at Turnigy. With Airtronics going away I think you sold me on giving this thing a shot, I do believe I'm going to wait to see you're luck with it in a gasser before I try it (let you do the experimenting lol).

I am going to get one to use in my small electrics and foamies to free up my ATX receivers to use in larger airplanes.

I think Turnigy, EME, and Blue Bird should pay me a commission. Or at least give me some free stuff ;). But I guess they are too much like me.......CHEAP!

Just about have the radio "test bed" flight worthy again. The kk2 board will remain non functional for the stupid tool to reflash it with is backordered:(. The better news is I have a six channel (iA6) non telemetry receiver coming and will see if I can get the Aura 8 to work with it. From what I understand is......8ms frame rates wont work with the telemetry (receivers) functions and need to be changed to 20 or 22ms. Your radio has to do this though. I do not see a way to change the frame rate with the i10 unless it does it automatically when selecting the way it broadcast's (ie...AFHSS, AFHSD,AFHSD2, AFHSD2 one way.).

I haven't purchased anything from HK in a while. They sent me a code for 30% off my next purchase within the next 30 days.

With that kind of discount this TX may show up on my door step.

Well I got the "test bed" ready to go again and added a temp sensor for the new motor installation. I have ordered a cooling spinner and it has not shown up yet. When I ran the motor in the shop the temp readings were very accurate as I verified them with my infrared gun. Within 1 degree!

The displays show the time the motor has been running, the temp at a given rpm, and alert temp at given rpm and how long by motor timer. Cool stuff. Now 160 degrees is HOT but I doubt it will get that hot during normal flight with all the mods I have done to get cooling air through.

Still grounded with the plane. The True Turn "turbo" cool came in earlier today and pre flight checks in the shop determined a motor issue. Severe vibration will start at 8000 rpm. Now the spinner and Aero Star prop are very nicely balanced but harmonics are just to much at that rpm for the mass not to vibrate because of bad bearings or maybe loose set screw some where on the motor housings. Will get checked out and see exactly where the problem is so radio testing can continue but not this weekend.
My DA 70 will get a work out tomorrow instead. I will say these spinners work extremely well throwing cooling air over the motor!
Also I have thrown in a pic of a temp sensor so you can have an idea just how far it is inserted in the stationary "bell" end of the out-runner motor. The portion above my finger tips is actually inside the motor housing allowing the actual sensor tip to touch the outside of the bearing housing inside the bell. This is also the area that the stator tube is attached. In other words a pretty darn good place to get temps from. FYI the motor never got above 117 degrees with the new spinner staying at 7500 rpm for about 6 minutes.

Ok! After 3 motors and 3 props the CHEAP (now not so much:face-palm:) HK plane is ready for some brutal testing again:yesss:.

Now only if the weather will cooperate I will get some more reports on this cool radio. I have ordered an EF MXSR 64" to get outfitted with this radio too. It will sport a Turnigy SK3 series 5045 450kv motor and a 4000ma 6S lipo. The SK3 series are supposed to be the "crème de la crème" of CHEAP HK Motors:).

Just some in shop testing whilst I wait for Sundays fun (I hope).

Motor got really hot pretty fast when letting it hover in my hand. The 16x8 master air screw was sanded and balanced then painted and balanced. It turned out very light and it really seems to give the volume and thrust that mimics bigger gassers. I have a wattmeter coming but I think this may still be to much prop for the G32 motor. Plane as it was out of the box ready to fly was exactly 5 pounds. With all the mods and G32 motor it now weighs 5lbs 6oz. If I have to end up putting in the NTM 4258 500 it is going to be 5lbs 8oz. I am starting to think I should have just left it in but the experimenting with the electrics has been a load of fun in the shop. A big prop on this plane is a must if I want to get it to do crankshafts, pop tops, blenders, tight KE spins etc etc.
And of course torque rolls and hovering.

@Alky6 Yes I am stoked about the EF! MXSR. Big 64" WS and it is supposed to weigh 5.5 lbs with a 4000 6s!

The only reason I keep messing with this Sbach is that it does fly good. But daaaaaamn trying to get it's performance upgraded! lol

This radio is really turning out nice for the electric planes. I have trashed my plans for it going in to a 120cc airframe and trashed any future plans/planes in that size as well. Luv the ease of my 60cc Edge and 70cc Extra and will keep my gassers there.

I am gearing up two nice planes for electric service........As mentioned the 64" MXS EXP and a 74" Edge EXP.
The Edge will follow soon after I get the MXS in. I have got all necessary electric items needed to outfit them both.

The MXS will get powered by a Turnigy SK3 5055 450 and 6s 4000ma lipo. A 90 amp ESC with 12 amp BEC will provide the electron flow.

The Edge will get powered by a Turnigy SK3 6374 192 and 10s 5000ma lipo. A 120 amp opto ESC and 18 amp SBEC will provide the electron flow.

FYI These SK3 motors appear to be like the Hackers. I got a 1000watt 40amp charger to compliment my 400watt duo for the big batteries.
