Anybody know what the manufacture of this 1m DLG is?? It's a 4ch foam core and glassed wing and tail. Carbon boom, and a plastic pod. I bought it at a swap meet in Washington, owner wasn't there, but his friend sold it for him. Been itching to put it together but to be frank I don't know much about this type of construction and really want to do it right. Thanks

You are welcome. I just googled "orange foam DLG", then clicked on images. Once I saw one that looked like yours I clicked Visit Page.

When you run a pawnshop your whole life, you get good at looking up items on the interwebs to see what they are and what they might be worth.;) It was a lot harder before the interwebs that's for sure.:p

Parts starting to trickle in for the DL50 rebuild. Do have to say the cylinder got here :on_the_go:.

Looks to be a decent part. Looks as if it might have been dropped during handling but very very minor and easy fix. May "chase" the spark plug threads though. One thing I did notice is that it does not have the electrode marks on the cylinder dome inside.

The last couple days have been a little slow. I have finished up the rudder setup. I mounted the receiver and tied all the wires as neatly as I care to. I installed the wolverine switch and the ignition LED. I drilled the prop and installed it along with the spinner. Finally, I installed the wheels and pants. She is looking almost done. Still waiting on those mufflers. Hopefully tomorrow! If they do come tomorrow, I will try to maiden it this weekend, barring any hurricane rains...

He promptly refunded the cost of the White paint, in which I went to..(believe it or not), to our local Home Depot...matched the color of white I needed and purchased a can. I think it cost me like 4 bucks with tax. It turned out really nice. But I had to be "really" careful when I clear coated the red and the purple. The white already had a clear base mixed in it. The clear required with Wings West paint will eat any other paint. I had to mask off the white completely. Once the red and purple was cleared, I removed all the masking paper. So far both the red and purple as well as the white have held up really well. No blemishes and no problems with the paint.

One question did you sand the cowl before you clear coated it. If you did what number paper did you use. Thanks.

I did a real gentle wet sand with 600 wet/dry. But "ONLY" when I was sure I had a heavy enough coverage. The paint sands real quick.
