I buy cheap arrows for my kids to shoot in the backyard at a dollar or so apiece on eBay. I have abandoned, broken, cracked arrows all over my yard. Come and get some. Free is cheaper than Wal-Mart.

If I may interject here, do not use anything more than 600 grit sandpaper. Something that I learned is that even though we Endeavor to get the nicest finish possible on our painted items, the surface being painted also needs to have some grip for the new paint to hang on to. If anything more than 600 grit sandpaper is used, the surface doesn't have enough grip and the paint will just peel or chip right off. It was actually recommended that I use 400 however 600 can be used if done very gingerly. That is why I suggested very carefully and lightly wet sanding. Do not go overboard. I hope this helps you.

Correct., save the 1000 and above grit for your clear coat.

I started working on the cowl today... still no mufflers yet though. So that part will have to wait. But I cut a preliminary air exit hole and made the baffles.

Damn I'm hungry
Still waiting for parts to show up for the engine. Got a new carb coming too. Found it on ebay for under 40 to door (got to be china made cuz ALL their parts are under 40 lol). So if I take the cost of the K20wat kit and add the new carb I am barely under 200 for basically a new DL50. Got my stickers in from B+E. Not popping like I would want it to (should have had white not silver outline in the number) :face-palm:.

Put a bigger 16oz vise stock 380cc (barely over 12oz) tank in to boot. Boy I look forward to when I can just load it up and go fly it. In almost two years it flew 4 times as an electric and 4 times as a gasser!

Today I made a low pressure scoop out of the same foam I made the baffles out of. Then I went into my trailer that has never had an airplane in it and made it able to tie down the plane. The only things left to do are install the mufflers, cut the holes in the cowl for the mufflers, and install the batteries at the right spot to get the correct CG. Most definitely going to maiden next weekend.

Parts ordered to repair the extra so I got it prepped to see what needs attention. Until the parts show up I went back to my little profile. Added the bracing to the wing and then broke out the covering. First time using ultracote parklite. Deffinate learning curve but it will be worth it I think.

I start my packing tomorrow. Got two 40 centers, two 100cc'ers, two 50cc'ers, (maybe the Jtec Pitts too) refrigerator, generator, pop-up canopies, field equipment, camping equipment, radios, chargers, gear, and four days of fuel to pack in a trailer. Oh this is gonna be fun. LOL
