I bought that sanding machine from Harbor Freight for about $50. So far, I'm pretty impressed with it. I think it will prove invaluable for this type of a project.

Ive got one of those sanders.... built many airplanes and it is still going strong 7 years later!! I really like it for putting straight edges on, be careful though it can chew through quite a bit of material pretty quickly!!

With fixed gear I guess the 336 is a easier subject than the 337. I have a couple of hours very very early in my flying in a 337. That rear motor was always troublesome. Lots of stories of it dying and the pilot not realizing it right away on takeoff. They made a special multi engine license for those whom got their rating in this. Centerline thrust only.

What power system?

I'm worried about overheating of the rear engine, so I am going to do some creative baffling in the rear cowl to take full advantage of the scoop up top.
