Have you considered a GP123. A lot of good reports on that engine with crazy powere and one of the smoother running engines.
I've got the GP61 and it makes great power, but I'm a little worried about long term service. Maybe I shouldn't be, but since the place I bought mine from seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth, it worries me. Is Planebender the only US seller now?

Dave (planebender) and Ken Crane are involved in the GP. Not sure who else is. GP does seem to have a global network now though.

Joe Lewis is now on board as a service center. Maybe a dealer too? I don't know. He's a very talented guy who has built his own multi cylinder engines and worked to figure out the fuel distribution issue on the V1 123's. He goes by the username of flyman022.

That was one of the engines I was considering. Two big selling points are the tapped for smoke mufflers and a walboro carb. They seem to be decent motors. I am just a little leary of new engines and the bugs getting worked out on the first batches. It is also appealing that they are made in the free part of china, taiwan.

Well the version two motors have been out for some time now and are very well sorted. I had a DA120 before and I can say in all honesty that the GP is a bit more powerful and is an extremely smooth motor.

I would be willing to give one a try. The smoke mufflers is a big plus for me. I would have to flip some extra coin for mufflers/cans if I buy the DA. You guys say planebender sells them? I will dig into it. I thought they were still backordered but who knows.

I am very happy with my GP 123, after a crash I had to send it back to Zin chu lin at taiwan,It came back as new 12 days later, with a little brother 61 ,this guy is very reliable, and makes very nice and powerful engines, planning to buy another 61 directly from him again as I don't have any vendor in france, anyway it's not a problem.
