i found out that the older smart flys were sensitive with long leads with certain servos. With all this said the same smat fly worked fine on my Extra with the Hiteck 7955s. The only difference is that I had braided servo extensions in the Extra. I'm going to make some Extensions and try it again. For the backup plan I have a 14 channel receiver on the way and if the servo extension don't work I'll take the Smart Fly out.

I made up some new Extensions today. At first I tried to twist the original extensions but twisting it makes it shorter. Had to make new extensions. It is probably better anyway since I got to inspect every pin and I'm using 20 gage wire. Don't know if this will cure it but the new receiver won't be here till Saturday. Guys will be showing up for IMAC practice for the World championships at my field and I'll have to be there to make sure they have what they need.



The two pictures that don't belong with the Extensions is my wife making a Birthday Cake for my Granddaughter. I also like to blame my wife for the reason I'm so fat. LOL.

It puts a smile on my face everytime I get to fly it. With the 120 on the nose it's just plain and simply and ANIMAL.

I know, and it's the time of year that I need to be flying mine. I'm bummed.

The Drama Continues. I'm now convinced that there is a problem with the Smartfly. Took the plane out to test fly it. When I put the wings on I found one of the servos in the wing not working. When I checked the connection at the boad I found a pin that was bent. I must have bent it the last time I unplugged it which was yesterday. I bent it back and I wasn't able to match the servos in the aileron up position. It wasn't moving at all when I pushed the adjust buttons in any direction but would adjust fine in the down position. I'll try switching out servos one at a time just to see if it makes a difference befor I declare the smart fly shot.

Now that you mention that I had a friend that had a smartfly start to act up and his servos were twitching like crazy. He ditched it for a power safe RX and problem went away. Can you just plug your servos into your RX and avoid the SF just to test them?

Getting a new 14 channel receiver. It'll be here Saturday. I have an 8 channel in there now and it's not enough without the smat fly. This is a Futaba and I don't know enough about them. All my other stuff is JR. I refuse to change to JR on this cause I want to learn Futaba programing. Jamie is going to be here next week and well get it straightened out. I think. The Smart fly is coming out.
