3D Viper ST build continued part 2

It wouldn't be my first build, but right now I'm funding a new shop. Time to actually have a garage and a shop.

3D Viper ST build continued part 2

That is so not fair! I want a cowl like that!!!!! It would have looked great on my PAU Ultimate when I had it repainted.

    Tx. case cover up

I did this years back with simple CF vinyl on my 10X case. Back when you had to impound radios for IMAC events. That way I could glance around and know which radio box was mine!

3D Viper ST build continued part 2

That is some BLING! I'm not in the position to order a new plane yet, but soon.....I hope you get that figured out, I'd like that on a cowl!

3D Viper ST build continued part 2

Why did one cowl I saw have what looked like louvres on the top? I liked that look!

    PAU 30% Sukhoi SU-26

Tom actually stopped by my house in when I lived in VA once. We got some pictures of him with my PAU Edge! We have not gotten to fly together yet, but now that I'm in Ohio we should be able to make that happen. All my Su-26 pics are on my home computer.....I do think there is a build thread...

    3D Gorilla Glue

Every cowl ring I have ever done was with Hysol. Run your finger around the edges and it looks like a nice caulk seal!

    3D Gorilla Glue

Loctite 9462 hysol or something like that. It used to be mainly a jet thing years ago. Works great for wood against fiberglass fuses. Its a 2 part mixture epoxy type material that when mixed is thick white. Dry time is overnight. It is strong stuff. Honestly they make like a jillion...

    3D Gorilla Glue

That would depend on where you live. While in Vegas, I used a spritz of water. Nothing extreme. I simply waited about 20mins and wiped excess off and then you are normally good to go with setting it overnight. Really though, I've used epoxy, poly, hysol.....just depends what I have on...

    3W Ignition timing manual

Nothing wrong with the 3W ignitions if you keep em cool. All electronics fail eventually as do mechanical items. My preference is mainly due to cost of replacement. The RC Excel is cheaper and more heat tolerant, so when you have to replace that is the way to go. But I have had hall...

    3W Ignition timing manual

will have to download that one. Though when a 3W ignition goes bad I typically switch to a different brand.

    Iron-on coverings? Opinions?

Monokote for me. Ultracote is dull to me. The colors and shine are better. Yes, its harder to get it without wrinkles but Ultracote isn't forgiving to too much heat and will get wavy on the edges. I also prefer monokote when you lay colors on top of each other.

    PAU- Another Hot Rod Sukhoi

I like where you put the PAU sticker. I think I prefer the White gear, but the red ones don't look awful in any way.

    3D BH Design 50% Edge 540

2 things: 1. You gonna get that blue off the vertical or will your scheme be dark enough not to worry about it? 2. I like your stand, looks like one of those ball/rope games for the lawn beefed up to hold a plane.
