Beautiful!! One question, how can you call yourself a modeler with not haven taken off there? Lol.. I would have had to make at least one air born circle.....
We have a date designated for all of the winter build projects to be maidened. I promised I would wait until then. Plus, the nose wheel started having issues... Would hate for it to fall off during flight.

I get it. Been there myself so I know how hard it was not to go. Beautiful plane and from what I could see and hear, I think it has plenty of power. Look forward to seeing it in the air!!

I have been working hard helping my son finish his winter build project, but at this point the skymaster is airworthy. There are still a few things that I want to do before I will call it finished, but I can at least fly it for now. A couple of the looming issues we're getting the window latch and opening figure it out. It now works pretty well. The flaps needed a lot of attention to get them all working in unison, but they work fantastic now.

Okay, the big question I have is about the balance. It feels super nose-heavy when I'm handling it, but according to the CG it is spot-on or ever-so-slightly tail heavy. I am debating whether or not I want to take off the front cowl and install some more weight on the firewall. It already feels so freaking heavy. I have 6 days to decide...

I realize that I do not want a tail heavy aircraft. However, I also don't want one that I can't land because it goes so fast, and this one is known to land fast!

Yup, the 45 inverted upline will let you know, just make sure you center your elevator before you try this! I literally chased my tail trying to do this one time. ha
When you said bolt weight to the firewall my first impression was... that would make it nose heavy....LOL push me pull me says otherwise.... aft firewall DUH!:msn_slap:
