A few little accomplishments on my new Edge today.

The 111 remounted, less 3/16" clearance it originally had. Should give me right at 1/8" between the spinner back plate and face of cowl spinner ring.

Next, re-wrap the pick up lead and the sparkle wires, and loom them.

I'm about to install the Smart Fly Pin and Flag fail safe switch. After that most of under the hood will be done. I had to order an HS 5665MH servo for the giddie up go pedal. The Edge was set up on A123 6.6 packs so the brand new HS 5645 had to go. Once the new servo arrives later this week, I'll get it installed and that will be it for the front end. Well, except for replumb the fuel lines. I'm kind of partial to 1/8" Tygon so that will be addressed this week. I've got some red snakeskin coming as I didn't have quite enough left over from the P.U....I...I mean the PAU Extra from last year. I will skin the harnesses later this week. Right now it's time for the switch and mount the Smart Fly board.

No work on the Pitts the last few days. Waiting for my last coat of Purple then I can clear it. So what did I do instead? Well drive 1050 miles in one day to pick up 2 flat out stolen planes. What else? LOL. Not literally everyone. Just in the price I paid for them. First, an Aero-works QB 100cc Ultimate with a mere 10 flights on her. DLE120 on MTW's and HS 7954's throughout. RX ready even. One bad ass looking Bipe. This one I bought for my son. He has been wanting one since, well since before I bought his PAU Edge for him. The second plane is a brand new Pilot 100cc Edge 540 with brand new V3 DLE 111. New HS 7955's throughout. Also rx. ready. Both were basically ready to fly. The Edge is my replacement to my Purple one I sold because I was a fool. I was lucky enough to find this one. So I grabbed about four hours of sleep this morning when I got back home from Seattle and then...guess what I did? I started ripping everything out of the Edge to do it all up the way I do things. Oh I do love assembling planes. Looks like the Pitts is not the only new plane maiden I get to do this Spring. :woohoo!:

Tonight I am putting on snakeskin on the harnesses, installing my extra SF PowerExpander Pro, receiver, batts, etc.

I really can't. I think my son would have a melt down if I did. LOL

So I got the Smart Fly installed into the Pilot Edge and I realized something that really pleased me about this plane. I never deleted my last Pilot Edge from the memory on my radio. So basically, set up is going to take me like...34.6 seconds to complete. Rx. is wired to the SF, all channels checked out, ignition checked...all systems are 100% functional. All I will really need to do is set the throws on the surfaces and fly that baby. I wouldn't have had to do this except new servos that are not programmed. But that only takes like 10 minutes to do. No big there, right? I can't decide if I am going to push for a maiden on the Edge this weekend or a maiden on the Pitts. Hmm.... decisions-decisions. Needless to say, Photos of both completed coming soon.
