Sorry, I now see helicopter 'motor' instead of engine. Just assumed engine due to classic pattern in general. Good to have a couple of other old pattern fans on this forum.
Yeah this ones going to be electric. I want something to take to the field with me when I'm taking electric helicopters. Since the helis are on 6S I'm hoping to fly the Tipo on 6S as well, but I'll go to 8S if the performance of 6S isn't good enough.

Sorry no pictures. I tore the 176EVO apart and replaced the front bearing/seal because it was leaking oil :( In the process I made sure everything was cleaned up and tightly sealed. Now magically the temperatures are within 5 to 10 degrees of each other instead of 40 to 60 degrees different when running at full throttle :) Will see how it flies hopefully tomorrow after our field cleanup at the club. Also, have a new 29x12 standard 3 blade Mejzlik that is showing up today. Didn't realize the EVO was a heavier loading prop and it is a bit much for the Intermediate IMAC sequences. The engine swings it fine until you try a maneuver on an upline. Instantly kills all momentum. The plane will recover but, it takes a long time and when you have a negative snap followed by an opposite 1/2 roll on a 45 upline, the snap kills everything so, talked to DA about the differences between the EVO and standard blade and I should be right where I want to be with the standard blade, about 6K on the ground. The N was turning at 6350 to 6400 and really unloaded in the air and I didn't like that.

All these things happening and where've I been? Oh yeah...work. lol.
Been working a little on the Dalton, (photos later)... but till then I decided Baby needed a little upgrade. I really don't have much time these days but wanted to get a little side project out of the way. I wanted to give the 260 counter balance stabs. What best way to achieve this but to strip and recover counter balance stabs.

I'm looking forward to seeing just how much different she flies with the different stabs. Weather permitting, I guess I'll just be forced to take her for a spin tomorrow. :banana-dance:
