Sport Racing plane for 3 cylinder Kolm engine.

Just for the people following this thread this is a video I found of a 3 cylinder Kolm engine being installed.

Now it is starting to look mean and ready to go. I think I have more than enough air in take now I have see if I can get the hot air out. I know for sure that the cool side will be pressurized.
Now starts the planking of the top and bottom of the cowl. Just have to be patient and take my time.

Thanks for all the support really need it at this part of the build the planking is time consuming and need patience.

Ok the bottom half of the cowl is planked, put a little putty on it that will sanded smooth and see what I have ended up with. Next plank the top half and blend the top and bottom and the front blocks. Will be glad when this part is done with.

Ok the cowl is done rough sanding is done just final sanding needs to be done and some minor filling. Not making a show piece just a good looking sport plane to have a lot of fun with. It is going to be a flyer.
Now on to some details for the engine. The next big job is build the transmission from the fuselage to the wing.

Have to agree with you at one stage of the build I was thinking of leaving the engine exposed like stick. But I found out that a fully exposed engine the third cylinder is most likely to over heat.

Just a small up date build the hot air extraction into the fuselage, just 4 nasa type ducts, it should do the job. Also finished of the bottom hatch cover for the throttle servo.

This will take some time need to make a transition box from the fuselage to the wing with a 35.7 mm taper. Need to make 4 new wing root ribs and some spacers for the wing tube, rotation pins, wing bolt and wiring tube.
