I cut mine off. I have a friend that did not cut them off either of his and honestly, it makes the firewall look really cheap and low quality. Just my opinion.

Now that sounds like a woman in my past. Maybe that's why I left them on. I made her put lipstick on though!

I had these pictures on my phone I took through the front of the cowl. I used balsa triangle stock on the front edge. Adds a little strength without much weight. Plus it looks pretty.

The screws on the front of the motorbox, adjacent to the tri-stock, what are they doing? I assume they are to pin the box, but what do they screw into behind the ply?

There is a piece of aluminum angle bolting the sides to the firewall.
