    Spektrum DX9

Yup :) The "programmable" mode (don't remember exactly what it is called) lets you pick which channels get passed and which stay on the instructor's transmitter.

I love the over-ride setup with the trainer on an actual switch. You don't have to hold in the button, and you don't have to look for the switch when you need to resume control. Just put in your stick inputs and the gadget does the rest :)

    Spektrum DX9

A couple cool things I found getting this set up with the DX5: 1. The instructor's dual rates still work, and can be changed without interrupting the student. The student's dual rates also work. The effect is cumulative. 2. If you put the trainer switch on an actual switch, you can activate...

Article: DOC AUSTIN - Testing: Hi Tec's New HS5070MH Servos

It may just be feel. The cube loading is very, very close between the two. I'm also running 3300 mAh packs, which might be producing the lower loading feel. I've never bothered to weigh it. Matt

The 60" flies like the 48", but more, if that makes sense. It has a bit lower wing loading, and more power / weight. I'm still getting dialed in with it, but so far I love it.

My R/Y/B 48" sees a lot of airtime. A hoot to fly. I fly it to warm up for the 60" :)

Discussion Props for Hacker A50-12L on 6s

Plugging your setup into the flight calculator on Castle's site, I get the following results on a fully charged battery: 20x10 - ** no go ** (106 Amps, motor overheat, motor over power limit) 19x8 - motor just slightly over power limit (limit 1650w, calculated value 1726w) Once the pack...

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

Probably a good idea to use twisted extensions instead of flat ones to minimize common-mode interference from the AM signal.

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

I get the soft cast off my arm Friday. Depending on what the surgeon says (and if I decide to listen), I may try to fly a bit this weekend. I'll start off on the TH Slick to make sure the hand is good to go before risking anything breakable....

    New DX8 Firmware

Spektrum has released a new firmware for the DX 8. It looks like the new features are aimed at sailplane pilots this time: Your DX8 already has some of the most powerful airplane and helicopter programming of any transmitter in its class. Now, with a free software update, you can add this...

    Discussion powerlab 6 & 8

I come home from the field and do a storage charge on the batteries I used. Then when I am going to go fly, I do a quick charge on the batteries in the morning before I go out. Being able to charge 3 or 4 batteries at a 3C rate makes for a quick flight prep.
