60" Edge EXP Build and Fly

It flies great, and it sold me on buying it's 60" bigger brother. The motor is very smooth :)

60" Edge EXP Build and Fly

I'm about 20min North of Orlando. And I'll definitely be eagerly awaiting news of the event. Hopefully, it won't happen for a bit so I'll be healed from my hand surgery and ready to fly :)

60" Edge EXP Build and Fly

Finally got to fly mine this morning. I've still got a big, stupid grin on my face. I had it a bit nose heavy for the maiden, ended up putting in 3 clicks of up trim. No aileron or rudder trim at all. :) This thing flies like it is on rails. The Motrolfly 4415/480 on a 15x8 hauls it around...

    3DHS 58" Edge 540

I should note that I bought the fiberglass mount, might be different with the other options. :)

    3DHS 58" Edge 540

I understand that some of the Motrolfly motors have mounts that are not supposed to be removed, but the 4315 comes with the X mount unmounted. No disassembly required :)

    3DHS 58" Edge 540

Sounds a lot more fiddly than putting the bolts through the X first, then attaching the X to the motor and then bolting up to the firewall, but to each his own :)

    3DHS 58" Edge 540

They are either M3 or M4 (can't remember). Picked up longer screws at Ace Hardware. I also found that I had to put the longer screws through the X mount, then attach the X mount to the motor. There is not enough clearance to slide the bolts through the mount while it is attached to the motor...

    Who plays with resetting deadband?

Servo dead band refers to the electrical width of the center point of travel. For instance, a typical center point is 1500 microseconds. With a deadband of 0, the servo would interpret a pulse of 1501 microseconds to be off center. With a deadband of 1, the servo would consider 1499...

    OMP 60" Electric Sbach Assembly

How did th airframe fare? It looked like you got it in pretty flat, considering the bad situation you were handed when the motor gave up the ghost there.

    OMP 60" Electric Sbach Assembly

Definitely sounds like something bad happened under the cowl there at 1:50.

    Motrolfly 4315/480 question

I can't see flying full throttle for more than brief bursts, with all that power :)

    Motrolfly 4315/480 question

I just did my first run-ups of my new 4315/480 installation in my new 60" EF Edge. Swinging a Xoar 15x8 on 6s, I was seeing a peak of 1545 watts @ 66.7 amps. I see this is just a smudge over the ratings for the motor will this be OK? These were static numbers, so the in flight should be a...

Extreme Flight 60" Edge 540T Assembly

Ray's cowl mounting method works GREAT. I'm doing this will all of my builds from now on.
