Sport Racing plane for 3 cylinder Kolm engine.

I use fans on my Roto 85 because they don't want to restart after sitting for a short period after landing. Temps are fine in the air however.

Sport Racing plane for 3 cylinder Kolm engine.

Had a look at the manual, not much there, looks like there's only one temp sensor. I think I would instrument the rear cylinder.

The mold modification worked as planned, a couple coats of wax and will lay up a new part. It's not perfect but will make an acceptable part, the defects in the air dam are below the trim line so all is good.

    Electronic Carburetor/Roto 85 FS Install

I had to cut a rather large hole in the engine stand used for the Saito FG61 to get the Roto mounted. When I ran the engine it had quite a bit or vibration in the 3000 - 4000 rpm range. Decided to make a stand for the engine and increase the stiffness. It's mounted and ready for testing.

Here is the fuel flange for the Super Cub, I would image the J3 is about the same size. I would make it about 7/8" like the photo above.

While researching the number of screws used in the cowl came across this photo of the bottom half of the cowl. After seeing it I just couldn't leave it alone. Works out well because the current requires the removal of the nose wheel to remove the cowl. alone.

Scale Mick Reeves 1/3 scale Tiger Moth

The wing area of the Mick Reeves Tiger Moth seems to be a guarded secret. I found the full scale is 239 square foot, so the 1/3 scale comes in at 3824 square inches, that's a lot of wing! At the advertised weight of 30 pounds, the cubic loading is 3.51which puts it in the glider category.

Slide the cowl onto the current build fuselage to find the center, aligned the prop spinner center . windshield center support and the vertical fin with a laser level, then marked the center of the cowl so that the cut lines can be laid out. Received two pack of Sig XX hinges in the mail, after...

Found a smaller carb used on a 35 cc chain saw, got it in hands yesterday. The original electronic carb bore was 17 1/2 mm, the new is 15 mm. Had to make a new throttle arm and the pump is driven by hose connection rather than through heat insulator. A little bit of lathe and mill work and...

The 2500 was 25 CC glow engine, ran on low percentage nitro and less oil than other glow engines. A friend had one in a Akrobat II that was about the same size as the US 1000. The Arkobat II had a strange life, a friend's fellow coworker copied the plans and started the build, cut the ribs out...

Scale Mick Reeves 1/3 scale Tiger Moth

The US 1000 plans show OS 1.08 to ST 2500, while I'm sure other engines were installed. A 45 cc would be way over the edge!

Not sure what your "dilute through the fabric" comment refers to but I would not brush the first coat on, go right to the spray gun after taping.
