Haha ya :) I told them I would fly if they hung out and watched. It wasnt worth risking the airplane if nobody was going to watch. No sense crashing with no witnesses :D. When the wings came off my 70" AJ Slick my biggest regret (besides losing the plane) was that nobody else got to see it.

Well I made it out to the field a little late this morning. I had to stop and get new tires on the way. When I got there the wind was blowing a steady 20 mph or so. Everyone was leaving... I had wanted to do some thing with my aerobeez 74" Slick to make it have a more axial roll. I didnt...

    Redwing RC 76" MXS-R

Interesting idea Don. I don't think anyone is going to tell you it won't work. I am wondering how you are hoping the plane is going to fly. If you are planning to sport fly and want a fast plane I don't see why you can't set it up that way. As far as 3d flying it is a questionable choice...

The EXTRA 300 EXT Build Thread

19x8 or 20x8 are great sizes for a plane that size. You don't want anything smaller than that if you can help it. The big props help post-stall performance. Your method of finding out how long your battery will last is great on paper, but you don't know what your watt/amp draw will be until...

Very cool AKfreak. Nice write up. It wasnt that long ago that my journey sounded a lot like yours.I hope you can make it to our 3dbash event in St George in May. I know there are several pilots from Vegas that are planning to attend. And yes, the guy your friend was talking about was GYRO...

    89 slick Rebuild

Haha... my garage gets like that too when I'm busy working on planes. I finally started putting a 5 gallon bucket next to where I'm working to toss all the trash in. That has made things a lot better.

Tips on building SFG's for 75.5" Extra 300

You could do it either way. We just used light ply in one piece. It was a lot simpler and I think the weight difference is negligible.

Tips on building SFG's for 75.5" Extra 300

It is not really rocket science when building SFG's. The idea behind them is to just keep air from delaminating off the end of the wings. You get wing rock when wing tips are stalling... meaning there is not enough air flowing over them to generate lift. The SFG's just act as a fence to force...

Hehe... nothing like abusing a slick... is that a 51" I always abused mine... full throttle downline tumbles and blenders etc. Loved that plane. I finally broke mine doing a low high speed pass and had a prop strike.

Wow that is sharp! One of the best looking slicks I have seen! It was worth it to take your time. It is seriously sexy!
