The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

What brand of beer to store in there? I keep my CA in the freezer, I have a 16 ounce bottle of thick CA that has to be 20 years old that I still use today.

    Scale Stuka Ju87 100in wingspan

Can't stop now. I grew up in my dad's auto repair shop in the late 60's and 70's, priming was so easy back then. This 2K stuff makes you plan and think more.

Nice! That's a great looking approach in the back of the photo, looks like a full scale can land there.

Still green where you live, I'm looking at snow one day followed by rain the next and cycle keeps repeating. Pretty mild winter so far, could be 10 below!

Those joiners look like Byron wing joiners. A lot of heavy iron was flying around in the sky on those joiners back in the day. I see that Sig still offers them as well https://sigmfg.com/collections/hardware/products/sig-giant-scale-aluminum-wing-joiner

Scale 1/3 Scale Extra 330L Build.

Thanks, good reading. If I understand what was said about the cowl, sounds like you will be removing the ring and sanding the rear edge to make if fit? Yours looks real good, flows with the fuselage, wonder what it will look like when the front is raised 1"? You will need to remove quite a...

I assume the bulkhead is the plate the engine is bolted to? AKA Firewall. I would position it to avoid the spacer if possible. That's me!

Are you going to glue the ring to the cowl? Glad to see you're back on this build, have a kit on the shelf and want to know how it ends!

    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

Made this power feed for the mill from a windshield wiper motor some time ago, no speed control. Found this 60 amp PWM motor speed control on EBAY. Now have speed control between 25% to 100%. Surface finish is much better. Motor will stall less than 25% output.

Finally got the saw horses back in the shop from the remodeling project so I can flip the fuselage over for a photo. The pulley is a little larger now and relocated on the elevator rather than the stab. Works much better. Nicked the cables while enlarging the exit hole so I need to make new...
