    Hair spray is basically glue so it adds glue to the balsa/ filler base and promotes better adhesion. I like the way it sands as well. It's coming along.

    Finished final sanding, started with 220, 320, and finished with 400. A light coat of hair spray was applied after each successive sanding.

    Thank you Steven. The first fairing is out of the mold, clean the mold and two coats of PVA and number will be on the way. One layer of 4 oz cloth and one layer of 8 oz. cloth. Mixed 6 grams of epoxy

    Made a dash and covered it with vinyl fabric from Jo Ann fabrics, used 3m Super 77 contact cement to attach to the balsa dash. This will be glued it after the windows are installed. The vinyl is folded over on itself to form the lip and give a finished appearance.

    What glue did you decide to use for the fabric? Bought fabric for my dash top and while I ask the women what glue would work on the fabric, she recommended E6000, did a test with it and it does not work, I'm thinking 3M 77 contact cement.

    Worked on the mold for the main gear fairings. Have the plug mounted in the part board, 10 coats of wax and the first coat of PVA on. All the seams are sealed with Crayola modeling clay and the 2 marbles will locating domes. Will put another coat of PVA on before laying the first half, plan...

    The dash arrived today, looks good. I decided to go with a black panel rather the the gray/silver in the photo of the full scale. I am quite happy.
