Ah but two of those had to end on the rivet at all! Out of frustration I threw them in the trash and got out my box of hinges. No big deal but better caught on the ground during assembly.

Like I said I've already sent a PM to Herve outlining my concerns. This is just a case as is with any ARF from China of builder beware. There's no way the company owner in the States can guarantee 100% of what goes into these things. It's our individual responsibility to inspect and decide...

The hinge on the bottom is brand new genuine Robart. The hinge on top is not. Look closely at it you can see the rivet is broken. I found them mixed in the rudder and elevators. One wing all Robart, the other, all grey market. I only thought it appropriate to point this out to Smitty as he is at...

I borrowed the hole punch idea as well. Worked great using a cheap single hole punch and Scotch Blue masking tape. Epoxy on one side Gorilla glue on the other. Watch the hinges I found there to be a mix of genuine Robart and Chobart junk. I replaced every questionable hinge point with Robart...

I haven't got to the rudder cables either. According to SWB they should be crossed if you use an offset arm which is recommended in the assembly manual. I'm working on mounting up the engine right now. It is much easier to glue up the side windows with the airframe bare. I used canopy glue they...

That would help me understand some of the other issues I'm going to have to deal with. Nothing major but not like the Extra 300 my fellow club member has . That's the airframe that I based my decision on. I'm looking forward to flying this Sukhoi!

I'm slowly plugging away. Everything dry fit ok. Landing gear is on.Tail surfaces glued up. Elevator servos installed. Waiting for the UPS guy for an engine. Then I'll get serious. Trying to get some stick time in between the snow and high winds out here.
