New!! Great Planes 30cc Avistar Sport/Trainer

Ruh Roh looks like some competition for the Aero-works GT and Hangar9 Valiant. I couldn't be more happy with my GT it's 2 years old and easily has more than a thousand flights on it. :fist_pump:

    Ordered my Su-26

I just put it back up on the balancer and really leveled it. After waiting for the plumb bob to settle down it looks a little better. Right in the middle of the wing tube. Perhaps it was late and I was a little tired yesterday. I'm going to go ahead and get spinner done and the baffle installed...

    Ordered my Su-26

I definitely need to move the COG 1 inch forward. Still need to cut a spinner and I haven't baffled the cowl yet. Any other ideas?

    Ordered my Su-26

The assembly manual says 6.5" for IMAC. I fly in Basic. I'll spend some more time measuring tomorrow. And I've still got a spinner to install. I've got a headache from trying to remember how to program my radio at the moment. Close but not done yet.

    Ordered my Su-26

Mine is getting closer. Finished hinging the wings, mounted the servos, fuel tank, ignition, etc. Got it in the vanessa rig to check the cg. It's just behind the wing tube with the batteries way up on the motor box. I'm thinking I'd better try to get it just ahead of the wing tube? All that's...

Are you going to register with the FAA? Cast Your Vote!

It just dawned on me that there had to have been flight restrictions in place all around where the President was vacationing (golfing). They grounded us when he last visited here and our field is at least 15 miles from the airport and 7 miles from where the event was. Gives me a lot of...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

40 degrees and windy for the next week. I did an annual inspection on my Aero-works GT and found 5 out of 7 elevator hinges broken. This airplane is almost 2 years old and easily has over 1000 flights on it. Needless to say my PAU SU-26 assembly has to stop. I'll be re-hinging the elevator on...

FAA Announces their rules for radio controlled aircraft

I figure since I'm already breaking the law with my high capacity magazines, I might as well break the law and fly my model airplane. ;)

    Ordered my Su-26

I had to take a break, sciatica, too much time standing over the fuse. I'm back to it today. Got the DA and throttle set up. Switches and fuel dot are in. Started to pin the firewall. Receiver is located. Batteries and ignition are next. Bad weather for a while here I'm hoping to be ready to...
