Went back and looked at your install pics from 2020. I'm going to do the same. Thanks Tony.

    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

Thanks! I'm looking for one that takes up minimum real estate on the carriage and cross slide. I know their out there, because my mill has a nice non intrusive one.

Phase 1 of project DRO complete. I got a cheep DRO off of ebay for the tailstock. I could have used one building the tap guides. Don't know what system I'll go with for the carriage and cross slide yet.

Got a little strut work done. Added some extra backing wood for the mounting areas. The right side is about done. Still have more to do on the left side.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

My new tools showed up this day! This Maxxt bandsaw is just right for the space I have. I tested it out and it works great. I got this one because it can also be used in the vertical position. I'll build a bigger table for the vertical position. I also got a set of carbide insert tools from...

PM Research Mini Engine Lathe Build

I started with reaming the spindle shaft. The kit came with some small taper pins, I just had to cut the 60* point into them. I reamed the spindle shaft, then installed the tapered pins into the spindle so I could cut the 60* points using the compound slide. It worked out good. The dead centers...

    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

Yep, it's a Vevor. I really want to get into a 10 or 11" lathe down the road, and that's a big dillema for me, as I really don't want to make a big inventment on this one until I'm sure what I'm going to end up with. But I will be using this one for at least another year to two. I do want to...

    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

I'm hoping I can get a much smaller system for mine. The one that came on my mill only takes up about an extra half inch. I think I can work with that. I've also taken the locking nuts off my cross slide dove tail screws and put some carb needle springs on in place of them, for ease of...

Scale Bud Nosen 1/4 Scale Cub?

Got the fin in place and made a fillet for the transition area. Spent quite a bit of time getting the side fillets for the fin made but I think I'm ok with how they turned out. Got them glued in place, then worked on the hinging bevles.
