    Bls 157

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the BLS. I have 3 planes with them now and all of them are jitter free. I actually have trouble telling if the plane is on because the servos are dead quiet unlike any servo I've used before. This leads me to believe that you might have just gotten a bad...

    2013 Schedule

No competitions planed for helis this year, but my goal is to compete in XFC for both planes and helis in 2014. Lots and lots of work ahead of me but it will be fun. I think we will make it to bowling green also, will add to the list. Joe

    Vortex Generators

Hey, Vortex generators do help some on this airframe, but the added benefits of having them doesn't even come close to out weighing the pain they are to put on, maintain, travel with, ect.... I won't be putting them on anymore big stuff I think, just not worth it. If you decide to, I think...

    Throttle Curves

Hey Rob, To be completely honest, none of my planes have throttle curves setup. With that said, you have two options , you can either make the gas feel more like an electric setup or vice versa. If you like the feel of the gas, then you need to apply an expo type curve to the electric that...

Subtrim vs. Programmer for Centering Servos

No problem at all. This is something I have spent a lot of time messing around with and it has really paid off. Makes the planes fly a ton better too.

Subtrim vs. Programmer for Centering Servos

Yup, having equal throw in both directions means your servo arm is on the correct spline. This is often not 90 degrees. When you get to larger planes with multiple servos per surface then the easiest way to match the servos is to make sure the arms are perfectly 90 degrees to the servo. This...

Subtrim vs. Programmer for Centering Servos

You are correct. I try to set it all up mechanically. I don't want to use the radio to cover up or fix anything. I can't stand seeing one endpoint at 140 and the other around 110 which is what happens if you set the arm to 90 degrees and use the radio to "fix" the incosistent throws. This...

Subtrim vs. Programmer for Centering Servos

DJmoose's point is that the servo pocket is not always perpendicular to the hinge line. The servo arm should be placed so that it is parallel with the hinge line regardless of what angle that is compared to the servo. In a perfect world, this would give you matched endpoints in the radio, and...

Subtrim vs. Programmer for Centering Servos

For this size of plane. I set the servo up based on getting equal throw in both directions with matching endpoints in the radio. I start with the arm as close to 90 degrees as possible. I then measure the throw for up and down travel. I always get more throw traveling down than I do up. To fix...

    I feel kind embarrased

This site is really about the fun of the hobby and being able to share it with others. The size of the plane doesn't affect that at all. Never heard of the Quiet Storm. Looking forward to seeing some pics:)

103" Extra 330SC Building, Flying, and Questions

Here are the different setups I have used on the 103 and 104 with no issues. 1 HS7950 (6.8 Volts and straight 2s) 1 Futaba 9157 (6.0 volts) 1 BLS157 ( Straight 2s) I didn't notice any blow back on either airframe with the servos listed above. My favorite setup is the one BLS157.
