    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

I'm not either of them, but this might help. How tight is your stab tube in the sleeves. You may need to add tape to it so it is tight. Any slop can cause flutter.

It has to be "A realistic three-dimensional human pilot and viewable instrument panel shall be appropriately installed in all Scale Aerobatic aircraft. (A one [1] percent flight score penalty will be assessed for noncompliance.)" Sooooo... Yoda can't be used in IMAC.

    Redwing 89" Extra 330SC

It looks like you can move the linkage in on the servo arm and still get full throw. If you can do that, you will get more torque and your gears will last longer.

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

I don't. I haven't done it myself. Next time I'm at my shop, I will take out my old 104 fuse, strip the bottom covering off, and take pictures of the break points.

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

I don't want to comment on specific individuals, but I did see some "differences". Nothing was done that I didn't already mention in my previous post.

In the tail. Peel the covering off the bottom and wick CA into all the glue joint. add cross bracing. Reinforce where the cross pieces connect to the formers, and where any stringers and sheeting connect to formerss with stock, ca epoxy and micro-balloons.... also, where the last former...

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

I bought a second 104 to replace my first one. I set it up with the best components and glued everything I could reach. On the 42nd flight, when I stopped rolling in a maneuver, the tail kept rotating and snapped off. All that was holding the tail on was my pull-pull cable. I was able to land...

    Extreme Flight 104 Extra

No I didn't fly Spencer's extra, I didn't ask though. Herve is only a 2.5 hour drive from me so I will probably fly one of his before I purchase.

FAA 2014-0396- interpretation of new rule for Model Aircraft

Actually, the FAA has a means for applying to get a COA waiver for this stuff. http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/headquarters_offices/ato/service_units/systemops/aaim/organizations/uas/coa/ Only problem is like our last big federal application website, it doesn't work... :p

FAA 2014-0396- interpretation of new rule for Model Aircraft

It looks like there is an exception for commercial purposes. (My interpretation bellow, not fact or official statement) IF you can get a COA, a pilots license, and have your aircraft certified as airworthy, then it looks like you can make money with UAS as an individual. Only problem with...

USF is allowing students to check out "drones" (quad copters) from the library. http://m.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2014/06/at-this-school-you-can-check-out-drones-like-library-books/373214/ What do you all think about this?

Servo setup: EPA, current, and linkages

Now that I see a visual, what your saying makes more sense. Guess I didn't really think before I typed, as my wood planes are how the image on the right is. I was thinking in terms of my last build(krill) where the servos in the wing sit the way stab servos usually sit with the servo arm...

I read these noise restriction posts and they remind me how fortunate I am, not having these restrictions at any of my local fields. (Although I sometimes wish some of the planes at my field were quieter...)

Servo setup: EPA, current, and linkages

Similar to mixing a dual servo wing. It ensures equal movement of say your elevators at all points of deflection. Some times, even with good geometry, elevator halves may deflect a little different at various points of stick movement.(just a degree or two usually)

Servo setup: EPA, current, and linkages

Perpendicular to push-rod and parallel to the hinge-line.... I would definitely use a match or balance feature to match surfaces. I have noticed a difference in performance by matching points of travel in all directions.

It flies more on rails than anything else. It's very fast too; it maintains energy exiting maneuvers. It has a slightly different feel than a balsa plane, it is really hard to explain it. Closest analogy I can think of would be like driving a train on buttery tracks. It has a little bit...

    Team 3DRCF Jacob "3dbandit" Pollak

I was having issues with the RX, the ignition, kill switch, and some small stuff. I became a little uncomfortable flying it with out disassembling it to look everything over, which is something I didn't feel comfortable doing at the field. I ended up also having issues with the ignition and...
