    Did a little more on the fuselodge and played around a little with the powerplant I'm going to use and the muffler just to make sure it wil fit inside the cowling and took some measurements from the plans so I can construct an engine mount.

    I worked on the plane agout three hours this evening and finished the alerions and formed the trailing edge to match the alerions so that finished the wing. Hung it up to get out of the way and will start on the fuselodge after I clear off the work table and roll out the fuselodge plans.

    I was just looking at the time it took me to construct the tail and then the wing. that would one month for the tail then one and one half month for the wing so I figure one and one half month for the fuselodge so I should be ready to insttall the engine radio and paint by Jan 1 HAPPY NEW YEAR...

    Success Wetting then clamping on a streight edge for 24 hours worked so finished the flaps today and then started work on the alerons. Im Going to use Robart super Hinge Point hinges to hinge the flaps does anyone have any experience in installing these and could give me some pointers.

    Helped it a little so rewet the flap and put it back on the flat furface and reclamped it and will let it set for a couple of days this time and see if that works

    Finished the flaps and had a real problem. The plyowood strip on the trailing edge had a warp in the end of it and even though I constructed it on a flat surface when i removed it there was still a bend in the end of the trailing edge and it wouldnt mate with the trailing edge of the wing so I...

    I learned after doing the first side and wore a mask today I finished the other side and applied some filler to the seams I dont remember coughing that much as a kid. Getting old is hell. I've had that balsa block under the wing since 1958 the price tag says 35cents.

    Sanded the port wingtip block into shape last night and all I can say is " that is one hell of a lot os sanding"

    worked on the plane this evening. Sheeted the wing tips and glued on the wingtip blocks.

    Put in the 13th wing ribs and LE and TE blocks. the blocks didnt quite line up so will have to shape the tips a little more than expected. what else is new.

    I went on Robarts site and the 121 retract is the one recomended for the plane we are building but like Robart does they really dont give you any solutions for solving the steering problem with the wheel extended and retracted.

    I"m thinking about installing a robart retractable tail wheel and Ting off the air supply to my mail retracts. any suggestions? Do you think a 160 would be to big or should I use a 121 and steering the tail wheel would then become a problem since the steering mechanism would have to be flexable...

    Finished the top of the wing today then turned it over and cut the holes for the servos and applied filler to the seams and will sand tomorrow after the filler sets.

    I got the top sheeting trimmed and some spots filled. I will go over underside and fill spots in it then do the wing tips before the end of the week.

    Thanks I sheeted the rear of the top of the wing today. First wing I've sheeted in 58 years. Goes to show you you never forget skils llearned as a kid.

    put the wing in a jig and sheeted the forward section of the top of the wing. Page 26 in the assembly manuel.

    Trimmed the lower sheeting, added last piece and tied up loose servo wiring and marked servo location and rear wing bolts.
