    Prop bolts....what's the consensus?

When I bought Nordocks from McMaster Carr, they were only available in standard sizes, not metric. That's OK for headers and such, but I was concerned the extra play on the prop bolt would cause a balance problem. Are metric sizes available from somewhere else? Does the extra play really matter?

Plane Stand Pro - fuselage stand.

UP tracking says mine is on the truck. Can't wait... I'm assembling my new AJ93 Laser and I know the stand will come in handy

Starting Your Plane by Yourself, 60ccc or Larger

Don't fly alone! There are just too many things that can go wrong regardless of your restraint system IMHO.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

And what did Dennis say about bringing it back? I would jump on the chance to buy a new Carden Cap. I built a 35% several years ago. Would love to have another.

    Drilling out hinge points

    I think I'll try that.

    Drilling out hinge points

Well, guess I know how to shut down a thread. While I'm on a roll, here's another question. Does anyone know how to replace just one hinge point on a surface? Or, do you have to pull them all?

    Drilling out hinge points

This thread came along at the perfect time for me. I've got a relatively new EF88 Edge with about 50 flights and one elevator and one aileron hinge have just a tiny bit of play. The "right" thing to do is cut out all the hinges of both surfaces and replace them. Guess I did an inadequate job of...

    Drilling out hinge points

One of the guys at our field said he used a hot soldering iron of about the same diameter as the hinge and melted the hinge out. Sounds messy, but might be worth a try.

    Too old to "HUCK"?

64 next month but I've no intention to stop hucking anytime soon. Not the best by any means, but I'm sure having fun.

    Drilling out hinge points

Aren't the new holes quite a bit bigger than the old holes? How do you fill the gap when you put the new hinges in?

How big is the D.OG.S. Fly-in?

I'm thinking about going up to Dayton over the Labor Day weekend. Always heard the D.OG.S. Fly-in s a good one and I've never been in the USAF Museum. The website says over 20k people attended last year? That's more than 6k a day. If this is a real number, this Fly-in is bigger than Joe Nall...

    IMAC Membership Drive

I'm in. Was looking for an excuse to renew my membership from 10 years ago. Think I can get my old number again?

    Too old to "HUCK"?

No chance. I'm an old goat, but I'm also a 3D rookie. I intend to keep learning how to get better for a looong time.

    BME-102 or 3W-100??

I had a BME102 on a 35% Carden Cap. Very good flyer (the plane, not me) but it did not have enough power for IMAC Advanced up-lines. Of course YMMV.

Bigger flies better. Just my opinion, but no other factor has as much influence.

    Build: EF 88" Edge 540T

I have a suggestion - maybe everyone already knows this, but I didn't. I have the same plane, with DA60 and ProFlow cannister. After a couple dozen flights the covering lifted (and tore) around the opening for the cannister. First on the rear section, fixed that with new UltraCote, then tore...

    Build: EF 88" Edge 540T

Great! I'll bet you like it. I've been flying mine for a couple months now and I like it a lot. Also DA60.
