no, they don’t fit stock, you’ll have to ream those out as well. I was the one who used the blazing star standoffs and it worked flawlessly! I love this setup. So easy to do and very strong.

Excellent. Ordering the standoffs now. So are you not using bearings with the Airtops? Just drilling out the hubs?

This is before I had everything finished, but you get the idea of the wheels and Xcub gear. This is the 7” airtops with the 6” dubro rims, reamed out for 8mm and painted black to look more scale like. Also, how I did my Xpwr motor with the blazing star stand offs. Works like a Charm with the Xpwr 40cc.

Sorry, forgot photos on the previous post.

Correct. I drilled out the hubs, greased where they roll on the axle and then used rubber spacers to create a “brake” against the Xcub gear and rim.

Clint that looks awesome! I think I can get the 7" Airtops, and put an 8mm bearing in them -- but earlier there was a post that seemed to say the stock Xcub axles are slightly larger than 8mm. I'll figure it out when the time comes. How are your flight times on 12s? I'd be happy with 7-8 minutes if I can get it. Ecalc (which I find accurate) says I should get around 7

I am currently flying with (2) 6s 5000mah Lipos in series and I can get 6.5-7 min flights time, but with the Xcub gear it’s too heavy to feel nimble and STOL how I like it, so I am about to try some 4000mah packs to see what the weight difference will give me. I’m willing to lose a tiny bit of flight time to gain better handling from the plane.

I just verified that my Scorpion mount is made to match the DA-50 bolt pattern, which also matches the DA-60. So I'm going to try one of these DA-60 mounts - and then add standoffs to fit.

Like that the X mount and then some short extensions. Thanks for that info I have a DA 50 but was not aware that it had the same mouthing pattern as a Da60. Will have order a mout for my self thanks for that info, they are purchased from from Extreme flight.

Here ya go, some more shots of how she looks now finished and flying. With the gear and Airtop tires. I’m about to modify the Xcub gear to make them sit higher by shortening the lower rod and about to try some flights on some smaller packs. these picks are from my backyard flying site. My runway is down in the detention pond.
it’s pretty fun! cheers!
