IMAC Double Build, Carden Pro 124" Extra 300 40%

These are by far the best canopies/hatch I have ever made. The joint between the plastic canopy and the hatch is now indiscernible.

What I did:

using the West Epoxy resin, I first applied the resin to the whole sheeted deck and about 1" of the plastic, then I laid one layer of cloth, and then again, brushed it with the resin. Waited about 2 hours, and then brushed it again with resin, applied a 2nd layer of cloth, and then brushed it again with resin.
Waited 2 days, then I sanded it smooth!

What weight of cloth?

Welcome back Scruff!!

Started to work on the wheel pants. Still more work to go. I am using 6-32 screws. I now have to set a block on the outer side of the wheel, inside the pant, for the axle to key into, and then a 6-32 screw, from outside in, will lock the wheel pant into the axle.

That thin , long piece of plywood on the inside stands up to the vibration ? I would have use a 3/16 piece on the inside and across from the axle bonded with some hysol .
Looks great with the White rose wheels Cam

Actually, it is 1/8" thick aircraft quality plywood. And it is laminated on with West Epoxy resin and fiberglass tape. And, I will also place a block on the outer side of the wheel, and a screw from the outside of the pant, into the axle of the wheel.

More pictures to come. You will be able to appreciate it better! I promise you.

Ya it just looks thinner than 1/8 thick ply and you got i fastened in there with epoxy a fibre glass for reinforcement .
Not giving you a hard time Cam , its just I over built my stuff with the hope of lasting for a long time ..love that carbon gear ...!

Here we go my friend, so you can get a better look at this. I think it is stout. Has a wider surface area as well. In the morning, you will see what I have done to this area. It is cooking right now!!

LOL

Looks very stout and the wide surface area of ply will help prevent cracking that happen at the curved edge of the wheel pant .
The fiberglass quality on those pants look very good , I never had problem with epoxy wheel pants just the polyester resin ones .
Great work Cam , im just waiting for my BigAss high Bay led light panels to show up so i can light up my garage with 28000 lumins of light .
