The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Damn I'm hungry
With the looks of that STEAK we need a "I'm going out stuffing the pie hole" thread! I could only eat half of that and then grind the rest for 14 more cheeseburgers!:epic: That ribeye made my mouth water and foam!.

On a more serious note......High of only 80 winds N NE 5 to 10 and copious amounts of sunshine!:fist_pump:

Me and the 104 are........:yesss: going out flying!

Just got back from a 8 hour day at the field. Man it was nice I there! 73 and sunny with a light breeze. We have 116 members now and there was less than a dozen there all day.

I spent a lot of this morning helping two guys get some new airplanes going. One of them had a new Extreme Flight MSX with a DA35. It was his first non electric airplane, but he asked a lot of good questions as he assembled it and did a good clean job so getting it running was a piece of cake. I needed to tell him to quit hitting it with his purse when he was trying to start it and flip it with authority. After that it started right up. That's the first DA35 that I've seen at our field. Looks like a nice little engine.

This was the nicest weather day we've had this year and I just couldn't get myself to go home, but man I'm tired!

One of the guys at the field today was showing me a new toy he's beta testing. It's an add on for Revolectrix chargers like the PowerLab 6 and 8 called a bump charger. You have a tag on your battery that you pre program with all of the batteries info, then when you bump it against the reader it automatically tells the charger what battery it is and how to charge it. It also keeps track of all kinds of info about the battery for you. There is a small touch screen where you can select charging options if you wish.

The developer is a club member and two other members are doing some beta testing for him, unfortunately not me. :( It should be available soon from REVO/FMA.

I got in 6 flights with my new EF 91" Extra and wow really starting to get it dialed in. Best flying plane I have had. I was going lower than I normally go and only because it is so controllable with so much authority I just have the confidence. My DA 70 is starting to come on now and even with only 1-3/4 gallons through it. Weather is finally under the triple digits so all and all a great day.

Finally flew gas today for the first time since May! Guess it's good I had two servos per wing. I knew it was snapping weird ;) need to find a 2.5 inch 8/32 screw for the inboard.

I like 'em "BIG"!
The Richland Huckfest was a smashing success. Course how could it not be with @SupaTim, @Geno and all the rest of "THOSE GUYS" present? Doug and Clark did an awesome job of putting together a fantastic event. I got in 9 flights yesterday and enjoyed the thrills of the show the rest of the guys put on. Totally amazing weekend. And so looking forward to it next year.

P.S. @Geno, I guess I should have told you today. I bought a bunch of raffle tickets and put your name on them. You can thank me now for your win on yet another.....DA motor.

Just kidding.... congrats.......

I have been out getting in shape for the up coming Hunting season. After tromping threw 4 and 5ft grass and under brush makes it hard to walk with out lifting your feet 2ft in the air just to walk through. Any of you that know what CRP is, will know what it is like to get through. Jogging 10 miles is a walk in the park compared to just navigating in this type of under brush plus packing a vest full of two boxes of 12 gage shotgun shells and a shotgun down through draws and gullies then up steep inclines and hills and soft slew areas. I have done about 6 miles a day of this the last 3 days. This type of exercise will make most exhausted after the first mile not to many of my buds can keep up. Besides there is more to life than Our planes. As they say Variety is the spice of life. Now back to the topic, Love the turbo prop but is way out of my league. there is a pile of money in that plane.
