No shop time yesterday though my wife may call it shop time as I slowly keep clearing this area and if we stay will eventually build a shop there. Needless though the trees there gotta go as two of them are sweet gum trees. The black cherry in the front is just in the way of the gums coming down

Black cherry came down easy peasy

first half of the sweet gum same thing, dropped right where I wanted it.

Second half not so much. Now all of these I have had a rope tied too using my truck to keep tension to go the way I want them to go. This one started going the right way as it should have landed on top of the other one. But then it started to twist and went the wrong way. Let’s just say I stepped it off and the tree was 56’ tall and my power pole is 58’ from the base of the tree. Got lucky there

this is a forth sweet gum on the other side of the yard. Again they just gotta go as gumballs are hard on mower blades

Now of all the trees I have 9 logs now that are roughly 9’ long and 8-10” in diameter that will go to the saw mill to be turned into lumber to use in my shop. The rest got cut up for firewood. Hauled all the sweetgum to my wife’s uncle for him go use. All the black cherry I’m keeping for myself to dry out and actually use in my smoker.

This is one of the pieces of black cherry that I just cut down the middle to see what I had. Can’t wait to have it all milled up and be able to make something pretty with it. Haven’t cut any of the gum up but just looking at the end grain I think it’s just going to be a nice pretty white wood all the way through.

Damn I'm hungry
Like @dhal22 said....Have not done a thing in the shop for a bit except complain to myself why I have not been in the shop o_O.

Maybe because I have repaired 4 weed trimmers, 2 chain saws, 2 lawn mowers, 1 garden tractor and a large back pack blower...
Whew...and a 1992 Ford F150! No wonder I have so many friends. Think I need to leave the R out of friends :face-palm:.

Dang my smoker would love some cherry wood. We're all oak and hickory here.

Lol. We have a good bit of oak in our area as well but not much hickory. I’m looking forward to using the cherry though. Reckon it needs to dry for about a year though.

Last of the brush is piled up as well as the last load of firewood loaded in truck to take to a coworker tomorrow. Then managed to get all the logs over to one spot and up onto smaller cut offs so as not to sit directly on the ground. Hopefully I can get it processed in a couple weeks.

I plan to as soon as can get my hands on the parts.
I do wonder if something was lost in translation as Loctite 222 is a thread locker, to thin to act as a caulking type sealant.
After speaking with you and getting a better description of what you have if it were me I'd use Permatex #2.
