SupaTim,

I'm curious about your A123 setup.

Looks like you use a Deans Ultra as your switch and soldered two leads for your Rx and Ign on the Deans plug side? Never seen this method until now. Do you like doing this method verses a dual switch?

What size is your A123? 2500? mfgr? 4-5 ten min flights with this setup maybe??

Thanks!

Sorry for the delay but didn't want to leave you hanging. You are correct in that I am not using a switch on this one, just pop the hatch and plug/unplug as necessary. However I'm doing the deans to dual leads direct into the receiver to double the current input and then running a BEC/Kill to the ignition to control power remote from my TX.

As for the battery it's a 2300mah 6.6v A123 that I got here from Valley View RC. For me it's the only option for 6.6v power...

I was going to do s quick video on my phone and share but then SupaTim handed me the controls of this 73" so I nervously accepted after some prodding! It's hard to fly it after the guys have been watching it in the hands of Tim all weekend. Who wants to follow the main event? Lol

I will say the short time I flew it I was super amazed and comfortable with the stability, agility and quick response! The dle-35ra just kicks ass in this plane. In my opinion this AJ Laser was the life of the party.

Now I will admit I handed the controls back mid flight due to some heavy traffic, some warnings from the CD of those that were up in the air and yup a couple close calls! I had a blast with it so thanks Tim!!!

Supatim's video just cost me $500! Well, actually gonna be a lot more......time to start saving my pennies for the rest of the bird....

Noticed you had a Carbon Fiber 19X8 prop on your DLE 35ra. How did that work out for you? I need a carbon prop and wondered which one to buy. Would appreciate your advice. Thanks.

Tim, 2 questions for you...
1) Are you using a voltage regulator between the battery and RX? If no, I am assuming that the Savox 1256 servos are happy at 6.6v
2) What size fuel tank are you using?

Thanks for your time!!

I'm not Tim but have a DLE 35 I have been running for 2 years on unregulated 6.6v life packs. It seems happy.

I am also using a 16 oz tank and fly for 8-10 minutes with a quarter tank or more left when I land depending on what I do on the flight.

Thanks for the info...are you running the Savox 1256 on 6.6 as well?
