78'' Extra

Got the DynaTron starter today, took the 78 out to the front yard in the snow and used the starter on the VVRC 40cc twin. Started right up with the starter. Turning 6900 with a 20 x 8 Xoar.

Is it tuned pretty well? That number seems a little anemic to me... could just be that it isn't broken in I guess.

Cool so it is improving. I would expect you to get a decent amount more from that motor than I am getting on My dle 35. It isn't reAlly comparable yet though because mine is well broken in and making as much power as it is likely it will ever make.

Got to maiden my Extra today, we had 15-18 mph winds but it flew really good for first flight. One of the few planes I've maidened that didn't need a click of trim. I must have gotten everything
right cg was perfect.

The tail wheel assembly is toast on my 78" Extra.... I have a whole bunch of fights on it. I need to replace it but do not want to go back to stock. I'd like something more robust. Recommedations would be appreciated.

Why not just throw a 50cc size on there? The 50cc tail wheels from EF seem robust

Great. I got mine started too with a touch of a MegaTron. The problem with the Megatron is that it is heavy so you can't hold it with one hand so you have to ask someone else to hold the plane from going back so you can engage the cone with the spinner to start! is there a trick to do it alone without help?

Flew my 78" Extra today along with my 92" Edge. After about 96 ozs. through it, I'm finally able to start it by hand. I flew it about 4 flights today and so far I think it's going to be a great replacement for my 71" Slick. My Slick flew good but it just seemed real snappy to me. I bought the 78 because it has so much more wing area than the 71 for about the same weight.
