Dual BuildNew PAU 35cc Edge and 35cc Extra

I decided to finish out the thread for the people that have been following along.

Mounted the Gear Cuffs on the 35cc Extra today. These were forgot by the factory at packing time. Herve is mailing them out to the people that have bought the planes.

I use Silicone to mount the cuffs. That way you don't have to drill into the gear. I've used this method on both the 36% and 30% Extras that I've built. It's a pretty durable way of mounting them. The Silicone turns into rubber so there is a give to it on landing or when going over a bump.

I used smoke line to cover the the edge of the cuffs that go up against the side of the fuselage. First I split one side with an Exacto knife then glued them on with medium Super Glue. I put the cuffs one at a time in place and marked the edge with a piece of masking tape. This told me where to put the Silicone once I removed the cuffs. Glob on the silicone and slip on the cuff back on and tape in place. Let dry overnight. You don't have to pull the tape tight just hold it in place while the Silicone cures. I'l show pictures tomorrow of the finished product.

The Cuff's look awesome @Tseres . They really add a nice finishing touch to a really good looking airplane. . . . . :big_yes:. Thanks for taking the time to do this build thread. I'm sure I'm not the only one to thoroughly enjoy following you along. Besides, I learned a couple of new tricks to boot. . . . . . . :yesss:.

Airplanes are looking awesome! The gear cuffs always add that last little bit of a scale look to the airplane, makes it look more complete

First time out at the Madison County field this year.Turned out to be a great day. Art had 5 flights on the Edge. Mike had 2 flights on the Stick. Nosed over in the tall grass and broke his prop. I had 2 flights on the Extra. On my second flight the engine quit on a down line. After examination the fuel line grew inside the tank and was curled up against the back corner of the tank. This was my probation fuel line that I didn't switch out with Tygon. Guess what. I'm switching it out. I don't want to hear any discussion on the fuel line. The fuel tank is awesome. Just have to change the line to make them work for me.

Wish your lucky charm could have been out there today with you. But it sounds like it was a successful day for the maiden flight.
