Thank you Tom, In October I spread ryegrass seeds. Today, I was able to drill the hinge points into the rudder and fin using your drill guide, came out real good. thanks again.

here is the drill guide Tom Introduced me to. makes things much easier.

once I drill the 1st hole, I put this pin into the 1st hole, then I drilled a second hole on the other end, and put a 2nd pin there, then the rest was super easy. This is the way to go for me.

Cam, glad you made it and like it. That drill guide Ron and I came up with saved us a whole bunch of time, and all of the holes in the flying surfaces and control surfaces lined up perfectly. And since we are making two Dalton 300 SP's we had to make 240 holes, this was a big help.

Well boys I need to stop watching this thread just KIDDING. I just about to start drilling for hing pins and I read this, stop the build and make a dril jig, " like it". Keep on building and I will keep on trying to keep up with you. Thanks.

Here is another option on the drill jig. I used 1/4" aluminum bar stock.

Do you start with the outer edge to get the surfaces to line up or what's the best way to line things up properly?
