    Lots of trial and error today. Practice run on soldering 4-40 nut on main bracket. Easy on the solder, had to retap the nut after getting a little loose with the solder.

    I may use permanent screws. Not looking forward to potentially melting the already existing solder silver joints. Headed to Lowe's to look for small stainless flat head screws.

    Yes. I've been thinking about that. Keeping it square, contact points for soldering, etc. Thinking about a temporary top screw through the bracket into the structure.

    We use Propress tools and fittings for copper assembly at my plumbing company so torches just reside at my house.

    Too short dang it. Making another one. I did do a stress test and weld joints held up great.

    Spot on observation. At a minimum I'm thinking top window access. But I don't like the design. Not doing anything yet as I think around the problem.

    Working briefly on front spar connection tonight. Rough draft connector piece will be silver soldered but how high above the frame? Could make a big difference on incidence.

    I found some photos of the lathe I bought last fall. 1440 size with 8" chucks. I have better photos somewhere. This was on the way home photos.

    Using Kevlar thread I 5 minute epoxied the spar tubes. 2 contact points done, 2 big ones to go.
