Extreme Flight 104 Extra 300

And empty of fuel. For planes with the fuel tank in front of the CG always measure CG with the tank empty because you want to measure the plane when it is "most tail heavy". As the tank empties it the CG will move back so you want to know what it will be at it's "worst".

For planes with the tank aft of the CG (not that I've ever seen one) you do the opposite. You measure CG when it is full because the CG will move forward as you burn fuel.

Make sense?

My printer is repaired and I am shipping the baffles again for the EF 91 and 104, (and soon for the AJ Lasers). They are made from high temp ABS and are available in red, white , blue, black, and grey.
Please me at gshoffman@comcast.net.

Damn I'm hungry
Man I got to get the time and get my 104 up in the air! Last time out was engine had richened a tad and I got the Pilot and deck in so cg was neutral when tank gets to about 1/2 empty and ever so slightly tail heavy when at about 1/4th tank (32oz tank). I am leaning toward going back slightly nose heavy and leaving elevator expo at 50%. Can't believe I don't fly this plane more often but time is an issue fore me. I need to make this my "go to plane" but my "purple" Edge (lol) has made me a Lazy Cheesy Burger.

Looks nice!

Today I replaced my cracked Fortitude tank with a PSP cap and Fiji bottle. Almost looks like the same tank. I tried contacting Fortitude and never got a response. Besides the tank cracking the clunk line was pretty stiff, and I kept fuel in it like the instructions say. Also the clunk line shrunk and the clunk was a good inch from the back of the tank..

For the Fiji bottle I used Viton on the clunk line and a heavy clunk along with a piece of brass tubing in the middle of the clunk line. It was so easy as long as it holds up this will be my tank of choice. My vent line is too short and I'll have to replace it otherwise I'd be done.

I also set the throws on the new MKS elevator servos. With the same numbers I had in there for my 8911's they were traveling 5 degrees further both up and down. I dialed them back to get back to my 50 degrees throw on the elevators.

Maybe I'll get to fly next weekend..

Same here Camss.
Two of my 3 fortitudes have developed cracks in the caps and leaks around the various fittings. I emailed them, (Jason) I presume, and never got a response. No more of this stuff for me. It's Fiji and PSP from now on.

That's too bad about the Fortitude tanks, I like the design and with just a few modifications to it would they be great. The lack of response to email means I won't be doing business with them anymore and I doubt they will be around much longer. After doing the PSP/Fiji tank though I think that's the way to go.

I made up a Fiji/PSP several years ago, and put it in a 100cc Pilot Edge. I flew that plane a year or so, and sold it to a buddy. That same tank is still in there and going strong without issue. I'm not sure why I ever changed. It was a big mistake. And that inability to respond to a customer base has got to be the worst. Nothing in this hobby pisses me off as much as a company that ignores the people who purchase it's products. Hence the reason I am very selective who gets my airframe dollars.
