You know the saying "Measure twice cut once" as I'm sure you all do.....Glad I did because the plane was tail heavy and the scale I had was not reading correctly. I mustered up some fresh 9volts for the scale and double checked the cg. The numbers given for the cg (6 and 2/5th's inch from LE) is actually measured from the LE at the side of the fuse as per manual. Not at the center section of the wings. So I was a tad off originally. To my surprise the weight was also off. I added 8oz weight inside the motor box and it balanced ever so slightly nose down at the recommended point and the weight is a whopping 20 pounds dry! This chunky monkey going to be 21lbs 2oz at take off! I also measured the wing span and it is actually 90 and 5/32nd's with the SFG on. This planes size and weight is very similar to the EF91". I think a bigger engine is going to get installed but will fly with the DL50 for now. I am trying something different with pictures. My phone camera sucks so I used my video recorder and made pics from it on my lap top. Here are some samples. Let me know if you think the resolution and picture quality is improved....

The pics look great bro. :way_to_go:

I hate to hear that you had to add dead weight to get it to balance. Maybe after the maiden and confirming the cg, you can move some stuff around and ditch the dead weight. As we all know, dead weight is the scourge of the earth. :D

Thanks Mike. Now Rob can't complain I don't post enough Video :pink_epic:. I thought I was being clever:sneaky: with the heavier stand off system I did ( the nuts, bolts and spacers weigh 8oz ) but fait would have it this cheeseburger needed a full pound of meat. For some reason that does not sound so bad o_O.

Like you say once I see how it flies I might be able to build a battery tray and attach to the engine like I did on the 26cc Edge to get some more weight forward and eliminate the 8oz I got inside the motor box. From experience with the V1 and watching others fly this V2 plane on you tube it wants to stall too easily on landing. The only one I saw glide in for landing nice and smooth was one in the scheme I thought I was getting and it had a heavier 50cc motor on it (Gaui 50cc 4 cycle gasser). There was another (same scheme I wanted) had a DLE 60 twin on it and the first vid of it 's maiden showed the same bad landing characteristic. I may end up adjusting the stab incidence like I did on the V1
to get it to fly better with an aft cg location. We will see hopefully Sunday how it flies. Cold weather did blow in last night with cold rain and it looks as if the forecast is holding true!:)

Well I still don't see any maiden video. Where is the maiden video? You gonna post a maiden video? Oh yeah, pretty hard to have a maiden video when there is not maiden. WE all want to see a maiden video? Oh, by the way.... Who's complaining about videos anyway? Hee hee:laughing:
Best of luck. Remember, no starting table and keep all your landings in a three point fashion.

Was wondering just how long it would take you to catch that ;). And how'd ya know I was going to use a start table???
Oh I noticed... just thought I would give ya a minute to think about it. How'd I know? Cuz I'm just smart like that. Besides, your prop is not long enough to flip it from ground zero. Would you like to borrow one of mine? I think I have a 32x12 that's all lonely and
