Aeroworks Extra 300-100cc-QB

what was it about the ailerons that killed the servos?

The ailerons are very flimsy. So during higher flight speeds they tend to flutter and it wears at the tip servo. I knew several people that had this plane and they all had servo issues. Everyone of those guys sold their planes. I talked to Rocco about it and he told me of a mod to help with it. I did the aileron mod and it still didnt seem strong enough so I fully sheeted the ailerons. Just the bottom side. Once I did the mod I had to dial down my aileron rates because the ailerons had much more authority. Snaps were much better. Servo life tripled. FYI I always used an amp meter on setup and used the JR balance feature for midtravel.

I had two very docile flights on her,a very nice plane indeed! Just very intimating at this stage, big jump for me from a 71" Slick(electric) to the 100cc and my first gasser!Hey does this make me a giant scale pilot:)

did you roll inverted at any time during the flight? it's irrelevant actually, yes you're officially a giant scale pilot!

I love the scheme on those. When I bought my first 100cc, that was on my final list of 3. I decided on an edge but I think the extra would have been just as good. Congrats on a great plane.
