Ok, so here's the pics, this isn't Robart gear, I found the manual and scanned it for you. The instructions are detailed in how to build the gear.

The pdf should be 4 pages, it doesn't look like it uploaded right.. Let me know if it's only one page, I can send it to you.
And thank you for the pics and PDF!

When you're in a hurry, why use something simple when you can overcomplicate it and burn up two weeks in the process???

I was modifying the main gear and was mostly done when I thought some functional bungees might be cool even if they're pretty much unnecessary because the steel wire landing gear contribute most of the strength. So I removed a piece I had welded in and started figuring out how I could make a couple of bungee struts. In the process I also decided to go with 8.75" bush wheels (they're made for a smaller plane but I didn't want to go with the full blown giant tundra tires) so I also had to weld in some 1/4" axle material.

Everything looks very soviet bloc at this point (remember back when the Century Series fighters were all elegant and bad ass but the soviet stuff was strong as hell but looked like it was made in the local high school metal shop?), it was all made and drilled by hand so not everything lines up perfectly but Super Cubs aren't exactly beauty queens most of the time so I'm going with it being a working class gal with lots of hours behind her and lots more ahead.

So here are the pics, it'll all look better after it's been cleaned up, primed and painted. The bungees actually work, that was the whole point after all. :)

thanks guys. some of those welds are fugly (I might go back and grind some spots out and re-weld them, i was rushing out in the 20 degree garage!) but ought to hold ok. been moving snow all day so not going to get anything else done tonight but should be able to cover a lot of ground next week when I get back from my trip.

Damn I'm hungry
Your landing gear really turned out nice! I so imagine the rest of the plane will too! Any thought about adding electric start to add to the excitement!? And scale lights! Got to have those lights too! And what about a fold out BBQ grill??? Name your baby the "Flying Grill Master" Wow....What a treat! I want one:happy:.
