How the prototype flies will impact the decision. If all works out it will be a second Cherokee with more scale detail. Been looking at possible paint schemes, the one below is nice. N3557K which I modeled in 25% scale and is the plane in my avatar is now located in Punxsutawney PA about 90 minute ride.
The other choice might be making a new fuselage for the Champ, or finish the the 33% Piper Tri Pacer that I started sometime ago although I liking it less and less as time moves on. A forth consideration might be a 50% Mooney Mite ( The FS has a span of 26' 10" so 45 % may be better), I have the plan request form under my computer, the plans are at the Smithsonian Museum, you can only order 25 sheets at a time.
Kits on the shelf include a Sig Morrisey Bravo, Top Flite 25% Piper Tramahawk (Glass Fuselage), S2 33% Decathlon and Great planes 33% Extra 330 like Snoopy built a few years ago.

That's a nice scheme for the Cherokee Six.
Here is one from SE Alaska. "Skagway Air" The insignia on the tail is a Can-Can Girl themed from the 1923 during the Soapy Smith days of the Klondike Goldrush. I got a call from the original owner around 2012-2014 asking if I could annual a few planes that were sitting in the hangar pickled. Ended up annualing one Cherokee Six, Piper Archer, and the other Archer had a crack in the engine case so it nothing ever happened to it. the other two are still flying around!

The Piper Tomahawk would be a fun build, as who doesn't like a T-Tail!?

Weather was on my side to day, put the white to it. One light coat of white urethane sealer and one coat of white acrylic enamel with hardener. Will mask the red trim in a few days. Thinking I will do the wheel pants first since I need to mount them on the plane to lay out then do the fuselage separately. It is back in the 40's today

Lucky to get coat of paint on this time of the year. Always nice to see a plane with a fresh coat of paint. Do you by any chance know how much weight the paint job adds to the plane. On my Kolm build the covering will add 24oz of weight.

No, it is too much trouble weighting the plane, I put as little paint on as I could. Still need the red.
I have the plane sitting on the gear laying out the wheel pants trim with the aid of a laser level. The trim lines slope down at rest, I have the nose wheel blocked up 3/4" based on measurement taken from a photo.

Laid out and masked the wheel pants, started mixing the paint and fired up the air compressor, at about 90 psig, the cooling fan blew apart. Will hopefully pickup the new fan and rebuild kit tomorrow at the local Graingers. If not I will take the masking off.

Not having a good run, shorted out the USB cable on my laptop while working on an Arduino board, bought a new laptop. At any rate the parts came for the compressor and it's back running.
This was my first real experience using Mason paint and I am quite pleased with the results. Started laying out the fuselage trim however the weather when north and Monday is the next painting window so I plan to start masking on Saturday. I have the centerlines laid out with a laser and made up a 75" straight edge from an erasable poster board from Staples that I picked while buying the new laptop. I plan to use the straight edge to layout the long lines on the fuselage
