It is from a 40% Pilot SBuck. I stumbled upon it at a friends shop. He had totalled the plane many years ago and had never taken the time to clean it up. I asked if he had plans for it. He replied no. So I ended up with it. When I checked it had just a little more rudder and stabilizer area than what I was planning. So it looked like a good fit.

Looks like it saved some work, the fin to the fuselage transition is always a pain.

Ok you have done this before that is my biggest struggle right now is to get the two to blend together and not look out of place. I have got it close, hopefully most people won’t notice. But you are correct it will save a lot of work and it is difficult to scratch build as light as an ARF build, so this will also save me some weight. I might need the tail weight with the engine that is being installed but that will be figured out later, nose heavy is easier to deal with.

Ok this went a lot easier that I thought it would be. Did not have to do any sanding or cutting just a lot adjusting and re clamping. Everything is with in pencil width and laser beam width. Now do not touch it or bump it just add as many glue spots as possible with out disturbing the plane and let it set.

Ok tail section is glued in and is good. Also almost finished the main girder of the fuselage just need to do the top and bottom diagonal braces. Now starts the fun part all the planking to make it look good. Still have not tackled the bottom section of the fuselage. That will be looked at after the diagonal bracing is done.

Some of the tedious work has begun, working on the turtle deck formers, getting all the turtle deck formers to line up and blend into the existing tail section and match the canopy shape. This is going to keep me busy for a while. The canopy will be sheeted and painted, not going to try to a make plastic one.
I said painted not sure as of now, depending on the final weight when built I will decide whether to plastic cover or paint.

I use #20 T pins purchased from Amazon by the 1/2 pound, also have larger #28 size for heavy work, these are the the same as the Sig T pins sold. The FAI pins are supposed to be the cat's behind but never used them. I use dressmaker pins from Walmart with a ball tip but about half of the balls come off when removing.
