Decided to fix a few things that were bothering me from the start, as long I am at it. One was the rudder hinges, I never liked that there are/were only four. The top one came out after 2-3 flights. I pinned it with an 1/8" hardwood dowel... that was the only one that was hard to get out, the others all pretty much fell out (a little worried about the wings and horizontal stabs now).

I'm gluing in two hinges to the top and bottom of the rudder now... so there will be 6 hinges (although 8 wouldn't be bad).

Just see how it works first, Tavis has a couple as well, and Dave Sullivan swears that those horns fix the geometry mess with the rudder on those big Pilot planes.

Works perfect! Since I had the covering off I went ahead and crossed the cables (for a smaller exit hole -- the factory slot is really long), setup better resolution (max travel now requires 130 end point vs 100 end point before), and I have slightly better geometry on the non pulling cable (it was close before at full deflection and now it is perfect). All thanks to this servo arm cut by Terry (the rest of the holes are there to handle any setup you may have -- for instance I will need the holes further down when I grind off the stock fiberglass control horns and go with bolts like I already did on the wings):

I would like to do one modification to it for strength around the servo screw. And, also make two models of it to cover 1/8, 3/8, 5/8, and 7/8. This one covers 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and 1".

You don't need to buy expensive "tensioners"... just chamfer a DUBRO ball joint. :)

I moved the EQ-10 up just behind the fuel tank (now I'll have to make up new longer extensions for the elevator servos, doh!), and I'm going to put the RX packs up by the motorbox (I want them easy to remove, but as far forward as possible)... both in an effort to move the CG forward.

3cell packs with efficient highend switching regulators adjustable to any voltage (The Grizzly system)... providing you with a sustained voltage throughout all your flights until you need to charge.
