Pilot 37% 107" Edge 4 Banger

Lojik

70cc twin V2
How about a little prelude? After getting the motor started and dialed in a bit....(still running a bit rich, but I want it that way for a while), I got the smoke a little closer to what I want. Will find out tomorrow when we maiden this 4 banger Pilot Edge.

Nice going, sounds wonderful, very clean on the transition, and the vibes are impressive, I'm always cautious of running engines on models without the wings due to the wings reducing allot of the vibration in the frame but that motor looks very smooth.

It is pretty glass smooth. Course, four cylinders don't have much vibration. Oh I am so excited for tomorrow.

Maiden done. Video to follow. All I can say is, "WOW"! I've not been this jacked since bringing my 260 down 6" off the deck in a hover.

Video is uploading now. Will post as soon as it is finished processing. The 107" Pilot Edge has got to be one of the most stable planes I have flown. It is rock solid, predictable and incredibly agile. I thought I enjoyed my PAU Extra, but in the 100cc class, I think I like this Pilot more. The 128 has "MORE" than enough ponies to yank it around the sky. So far, I am very pleased with the outcome. I put three flights on her this morning and it was smokin' the whole time. LOL. Video coming...I promise. It will be in the "I'm going out flying" thread.

Would pipes or canisters enhance the 4 cylinder sound? Love the flight video and sound but I bet it could sound better.

Oh I so absolutely agree. My understanding is Lee from Golden Skies is in the process of having some headers designed and built for the 128. A set of MTW75's like I have on the 111 powered PAU would be the cats meow. Or the Koogle peanut butter on your bread. Ya'll remember Koogle peanut butter right? That was the shizle. Only problem with cans is, I have been told they don't smoke so good. Don't quote me on that. Only what I've heard. But yes, headers and cans would be awesome on that motor. I gained an instant 300 rpm on the 111 PAU.
