Here's what I did on the Champ and it has worked well.
I like the idea of ditching the aluminum servo tray and just using the tiller arm.

Yes it does. The card is old, I believe they are located in California? I thought most were leaving CA and going to TX and Fl?
For 33% I use 3/4" for the ribs, 1" for longeron reinforcement and edges, and 2" for wing leading edges. You buy the tapes the same place you can get the fabric and covering liquids. They recently began offering the 2" tape for models, the photo below I used 1" tape for the leading edge.

Here is F&M 3/4" pinking tape cut with the 3 mm pinking shears. Not exact but close enough and much better than a straight cut. Thanks for the tip.

I had to move my lower wing brace wires forward. A, they weren't scale where i had them and B, they interfered with my rudder pull pull wires.

I decided to take a short cut and just insert a metal piece oin the connection area.

Cut, drilled, ground smooth then blackened. I had to hammer the bracket in, no need for glue.

I don't think a plastic Du-bro push rod is appropriate for a 40 lb airplane so looking for ideas. I might have a direct line to the servo but the flex of a plastic push rod is nice.

Here's some ideas:
Get a carbon rod with a direct linkage with couplers. Lots on Flight Comps website, but heres one that's M4/M3.

Plastic HD linkage

4-40 rod with rolled threads, just make guide supports, you could always epoxy a carbon rod over it and braze a connector on the other end.

Man that looks like an airplane!!! It's almost this threads 5yr anniversary!

I found a 1/8 +/- carbon fiber rod that wool work perfectly. Even better it was splitting on one end and I found a perfect way to save it.

I taped the split tight while the Hysol cured,.
