Thanks for the input guys. I suspect the threads became worn the first time it came loose in Austin (it had previously been loose a few times over the 9 months I've had it) and the threads are probably just worn out.

not sure, but why not use hi-temp thread lock

that stuff isn't strong enough. in the past, I've used the high temp red loctite.
We used this at the field, and let it set for 24 hours. it wasn't enough.

What worked best for me was just torquing the bolts down when the engine was hot.

how about teflon tape?

unnecessary.
I and some guys I fly with have had great luck with pre-heating the engine before tightening the bolts.

But now that my threads are worn.... Anything I can do to avoid removing the engine?

Yes, you could install Helicoils.

that is what [MENTION=413]Brian Yak Dude[/MENTION] recommended I do when discussing at the field last night.... but I'm not sure how I'd install them myself?
