Scale Wendell Hostetler 30% Piper Cherokee Glass Fuselage Build.

As far as weight goes, in the photo below last March, weighted 18 pounds, without engine, 8 servos, receivers, wiring, batteries and paint. My goal was 30 pounds which yields a 8.9 WCL, thinking that 32 to 33 pounds is more in line which is 9.5 to 9.8 range. 34 pounds is a WQL of 10. These...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

You wanted longer! It would be nice if they did make the mini clamps with longer bars, but what's long enough? 12", 18", 24",36"? I'm saying 12" and 18" I might just cut a few and weld extensions in, thinking 4 -12" and 4 - 18".

Calipers are good for speed work, when fitting close and interference fits you really need the feel of a mic. At least that's my thoughts. I also find the caliper backwards when measuring parts in the lathe on small parts, the dial is facing the chuck, should make one a mirror image.

Started with some interior details, decided to use matte Apple Red vinyl for the the sides. The rear seat base is also covered with the vinyl. The seat bottoms are glued to the base and the base is held in place with two tabs in the back and two 12 mm diameter magnets up front. Once the red...

Have a block in the shop, 2 1/2" x 1 3/4"x 48", 7 1/2 pound balsa that I can send you if it will help. Bought a garbage bag full of balsa blocks at auction several years ago for $20, I'm well ahead on the purchase so it's yours is you want it, cut in half to send.

Sport Racing plane for 3 cylinder Kolm engine.

Looking at the photo, looks like you need about 1" of filler, why not use a balsa block? I would get it close then use epoxy and microballoons to fll the small gaps and make a perfect fit

Cleaning some loose ends on the build. There are five controls located on the front of the plane and the redundancy bus is located under the rear seat. Three of the controls are intermittent, starter, choke, and nose wheel (I plan to disable the nosewheel with varo function built into the...

The latches are made from 1/32"aluminum sheet. The full scale uses an over center mechanism to cinch down the top and the mechanism is retained at the bottom with a Dzus wing style fastener. These are simply held closed with the bottom button head screw, a little paint and 15 feet, they will...

Scale Nelitz 1/3 scale Cub build

Based on the photo below I would make it about 1 1/8". The tank measures 6 1/2" and the cap measures 13/16". It's too cold to go outside and measure the Suoer Cub width so I'm guess about 9" wide, That would make the cap about 1 1/8". The cap in the photo is missing the float rod.
